I know many healthcare professionals that are not getting the vaccine. Many because they have already had Covid. Others because they want more long term data. Others because they are healthy and know that Covid is a survivable virus for those that are not in a high risk category.

Yes. I have been in healthcare for 21 years. The number is north of 50 confirmed. But that’s what I know about. This includes surgeons, RNs, Techs, PAs, NPs, CRNAs, etc. It’s really not surprising. If you do this long enough you become numb to this stuff. Now you will have some folks act like this is an Old Testament plague. Those folks are sensationalists.

I mean obviously you don't have to answer but it's pretty odd to have a MD not recommend the vaccine without an underlying reason why. No other reason that would preclude you from taking the vax?

Also on a completely unrelated note, does your doctor where a grass skirt and have a bone through his nose?

No, it isn't really that odd.

Based on what you know, can you think of any underlying medical reasons why a doctor would discourage me from getting the vaccine? I'm late 40s with no preexisting ailments and I could stand to lose about 50 pounds.

Thats interesting because I've always heard that being overweight was a reason to get vaccinated.

Your doctor is the most important person to consult with. Not the media, not a message board, not the politicians. If they advised against the vaccine for you, that’s the advice you should go with. 👍

Some clinicians do their own research and practice conservatively. Many do not rush out to prescribe the latest and greatest drug that hits the market. They value long term data. I find it quite reasonable that local doctors are advising folks to slow roll the vaccine for a bit. I know this may sound crazy to some folks. 🤪

Only about 60%-70% of all hospital team members are getting the vaccine. For many different reasons

I don’t have to listen to a doctor. When I got covid we weren’t anticoagulating pts, I did it myself because I saw what was happening. I pity those who subscribe to lacking knowledge and instead of seeking it they just go with the status quo. It is not wrong to think for yourself.

Exactly. So if that is the case (or at least the conventional wisdom of the day), then I want @Septic to come up with a reason other than the one I gave for my doctor not encouraging me to take the jab.
