Sanders switched to Auburn, yes. The only way it could affect Jones IMO, is that it becomes more obvious that there is no room for early playing time at end. Alfy Hill would probably influence him as he did Craig.

Hope we can hold on to this kid. This week hasn't been the best as far as recruiting news. Seems like we need a little momentum. A win would be nice Saturday.

Have you seen the guys we are getting on campus? This has been a huge week imo. We are starting to get in the picture with alot of elite guys...

Absolutely. I agree with Mini-Vader. We are going to have a loaded class regardless of who sticks or doesn't. We are turning people away that want to commit already! The only real loss of those who are looking around IMO would be Irvin. He is ready to make an impact. Irvin is from Georgia so I don't really see ASU as any kind of threat. USC maybe. I think ultimately, he'll remember why he committed originally -- Coach O, and he'll stick with the Vols.

Yea I know, I am just getting greedy I guess. I like the class we have up to this point. I hate to see them going other places. I do think we finish strong. But I would like to hang on to Jones, Meline, Irwin, and Pair for that matter. I think they will all be pretty good players for us....

I wasn't trying to tease. I simply thought you guys would like to know info as it comes to me.

I was tipped from the head man at the Bama site that hes speaking with Delvin and when he gets the notes all down it will come my way. Guy isn't a biased writer so he is a good one.

Delvin is looking at Bama because of the Sanders decommit and I believe it is at DE.

I thought Sanders was be recruited as a LB? In a 3-4 I guess there's not alot of difference from a DE and OLB.

The only reason Sanders decommitted is because he wasn't going to beat out Alfy Hill and all of the other guys they've already got on campus. His stepdad even said as much.

Did we recruit Jones to play TE or DE? He is going to need time to develope at DE.

You have to think we had plans of him playing TE.

I haven't heard it said, but by the way the coaches are recruiting it almost has to be TE

As Vader said, this is a HUGE week in recruiting. Sure, no one has committed, but just look at all the guys we are getting on campus. Absolutely enormous week...great list of official and unofficial visits. We are still riding high with the waves we have made in the past month. In everyone's top five classes now...the only momentum we need is on the field--not in recruiting. That's where the win on Saturday would be nice.

I don't disagree that getting these kids on campus isn't good news. But I don't see how anyone looks at Meline, Jones, Irwin, and Pair all looking around as good momentum. Also James, who when he decommitted from Bama was almost considered a lock for us on this board. and he is going back to UGA for the second week in a row with his family. Not good IMO....

I am not saying everything is falling apart. Far from it. But the news this week hasn't all been good....

• Four-star defensive end Delvin Jones (Miami, Fla./Palmetto) told ESPN affiliate DuckTerritory.com that he is still committed to the Vols "for now" but will take other official visits, including one to Ole Miss for the Rebels' home game with Alabama next Saturday. Nebraska, Arkansas and the Crimson Tide were three other schools he mentioned.

It's the recruiting rollercoaster.

I agree it hasn't all been good news but I think the staff will right the ship in the recruiting game.

Has Jones passed his entrance exam? Do you not have to pass the ACT or SAT before you can take any Official's?

Recruiting is an up and down business. Pretty much EVERY kid who gives a verbal is still gonna look around. I don't worry about it one bit. If they decide to go elsewhere, then so be it. These kids should consider all their options and when you are a 17-18 year old kid, it is awesome to go around on visits. It's still early in the game and this staff will do what needs to be done to secure a top class for 2010.
