You must not know many people. I can think of roughly 100,000 people that care about the band.

Thus, b/c they represent the university you would have thought they would have been a wee bit more respectful and at least waited until it got painted over by someone else or whatever... It just looks bad on the University that they were the ones that painted over it...

I'm positive there was no ill-intent by those who painted it. It's really a non-issue as far as PR. It's unfortunate that a student of our university passed away, but for those who painted the rock for him, I'd say the act of doing it was what helped, not how long it stayed up.

Big deal. Do newspapers keep the obituaries running forever? I think it is great he was remembered on the rock at all. His friends and family will have pictures of it and I am sure it was meaningful.
