I am not surprised that dem voters nominated this guy, this just shows how bright liberal voters are.

As a South Carolinian, this guy disgraces our state and shows how ignorant the left is here.

The Democrats have even gone on to say this guy is a Republican plant. The whole thing is a damn joke, the guy even faces felony charges. I'm so glad that he wants to debate DeMint "soon" because he doesn't stand a chance...

Is this the guy that referred to the "********" in the White House?

If you're referring to DeMint, no it's not.

It was a guy named Jake Knotts who supports Andre Bauer who was another candidate for governor and Knotts referred to Nikki Haley as a ******* and that we didn't need another "*******" in the state house bc we already have one in the White House. His exact words.

another article I read said it's not unprecedented in SC for an unknown who is listed (alphabetically) first on the ballot to win

Vic Rawl

i think a lot of ppl just checked the first box, and since his name starts w/ an A he got the VICTORY. i can barely sit thru watching those interviews. gotta love how he went across the state campaigning but yet couldn't name one city or town. also have to love the fact that he's been drawing unemployment for 9 months

I was glued to my computer watching those interviews. I think it is fascinating this guy won a primary - FOR THE US SENATE no less! Good grief!

Everyone who opened this thread knew you would attack this angle.

I think it is more likely the voters just had no clue who they were voting for.

Evidently. Or didn't care, which is even more likely, IMO.

Maybe the state party should do a better job in checking out people running on their ticket instead of trying to blame the GOP.

They asked him to bow out. Not their fault.

This is a problem everywhere, especially in off cycle elections, and even mroe so for local races. Its not just a function of alphabetical order. Its also ease of name. Engelbert Humperdinck could never get elected to anything.

Hey, Sarah Palin got the nomination for VP. Of course difference is no one actually voted for her for that nomination.

I'm not really crazy about Palin, but comparing her to a potential felon who won a nomination because his name was first on the list alphabetically is a joke.

I agree but the article really keyed on SC and their past history. Wish I could find it again (was on yahoo)
