Votes largely along party lines because the object was to get Trump rather than objectively decide whether this impeachment was constitutional. Objectivity is no match for partisanship. The outcome was always going to be simply which party brought the most votes, and how many Trump hating RINOs defected. It's OK though because once again it reminds us of why we are a republic rather than a democracy run by mob rule based on two party despotism.
