Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

Ingredients absolutely are different but his absurd claim on GMO grains is my argument with him. We’ve been genetically modifying crops and animal stock since agriculture began.

Not to mention we will be looking at mass famine around the world if all genetically modified foods were removed from the market.
Not to the degree we are now. Herbicide resistant. Pesticide resistant. fast growing.

It. Ain't. Healthy.

It's ****.

That darn Gregor Mendel starting all this...

You'd lose that bet handily. I paid off my student loans within 3 years of graduation, have never carried a credit card balance over at the end of the month, and the only debt that I carry is a mortgage on my primary residence.

It sounds like you're projecting, maybe you should look into getting some help managing your debt?
Maybe you should expect to apply those same standards to your government. 🤔

Oh, and you are much more in debt than just your mortgage. Every US citizen, every man, woman, those that don't know, and child carries about $110,000 of debt. That's your share of the US debt.

This is Corruption and crimal activity, vs accountability and rule of law. This isn't quid pro quo, this is the idea of accountability and justice.

Who had Trumpers lecturing folks on the importance of "accountability and justice" 30 days in on thier bingo cards?

Exactly. Why do you want our money to go to DC only for it to get wasted and sent back?

I know I’m asking you to think outside of your comfort zone because you love that Fed money for some reason.

Do this. Think of all of those federal dollars as yours and ours (because they actually are). Then ask yourself why you should be made to send your money to DC.

Have you not seen the waste being reported? Does that not anger you?
I saw a stat that the average US taxpayer pays ~ $20,000 in taxes per year. Report is that FEMA, having left Tennessee and NC hurricane victims in dire straights, were spending ~ 60,000,000 per week housing illegal immigrants in posh NYC hotels.

So, they were blowing through the taxes of 3,000 citizens a week on illegal immigrants while ignoring the actual citizens they tax.

And, on schedule. If there were a once in 1000 natural disaster, we call the Ghostbusters? Listen man, I live here. There are Fema buses and vehicles still here, saw one this very morning in JC.

Different administration, same thing. Funny though, Congress is in charge of Fema budget. So, gripe all you like. That was a Republican and Democrat thing.

It has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with how I know that agency operates and has operated as part of my career. You walked into this discussion blathering about it not being an "official government agency", which is wrong. Now you're trying to argue that Musk was asking "for clearance", which is a very specific thing and also wrong. That may be how the media frames it, but the USDS doesn't need "clearance" from much of anyone outside of very specific stuff outside of his reach (i.e., DoD, FBI spend beyond Top Secret), which he will almost certainly end up with anyway and will get it by following the rules.

What he was likely asking for is access to their data warehouse. That's not a "cleared" request. Trump, at any time, can demand that be given, for any executive agency. An SES trying to be a gatekeeper is precisely the problem of an unelected bureaucracy running rampant. In the end, the step you're bitching about is already there for this case. Would you prefer if he just has his team hack into it all? You'd complain about that, too.

You're a smart guy. You're getting wrapped around an axle you genuinely don't understand. Instead of immediately deflecting to the "Trump" argument, try to actually read and process what I'm saying.
again its the HOW of it. They clearly aren't being transparent, despite all the claims to otherwise. that and them being part of the government, yes I was wrong about that, is enough for me not to trust or like them.

You want to be taken as being a fair minded both sides of the issue person. Then you use statements like "those slurpin on Trump". You mean the President that is the first in our lifetime to actually do something about BILLIONS if not trillions in waste? To cut through the BS and party double speak from both parties and talk in plain numbers? Yeah I deffinately will slurp some more rational accountability down, it's tasty. Pardon me if I don't slurp down more political hyperbole while my country comes apart and people are hurting. But the moment you make a statement like that, the less I care what you say after. I think you are at the very least educated enough to see the inflamitory language.

Your back pedaling pretending we're at the legal version of semantics and protocol. You have no evidence whatsoever they are not using normal and accepted protocol for say USDS auditing an agency. You do not have the written orders of the President either. You or I do not know the CURRENT clearance on the team. However by the language of these attackas and court orders clearly they don't either. They have basically been saying Trump as CiC doesn't have a right to look into USAID or stop waste. They didn't come across and say he forgot to fill out form 27B-6....

Everything Trump does now enables the Democrats to do what exactly? Follow the law? He should do what differently? Allow Waste and continue to ignore the constitution? Allow criminal activity? Allow USAID to continue to finance heroin trade and human trafficking? They are not mad that him for not following protocol, they are MAD that he is exposing their crimes and mismanagement. At what point should we expect either party to expose their mismanagement if not Trump? Best most of us can tell, this is the first President in the last 50-60 year to take on corruption in BOTH parties. Which is why corruption in both parties despise him. Why do you "slurp" corruption?

We're confused? No Sir you are confused, and I think frankly disingenuous also. Your so used to looking at it as My Team vs your team like a sport the ideas of rule of law, and hard science numbers eludes your frame of reference. This isn't even about "if Trump does it they'll do it." That was teh most assinine of comments. I personally hope every President in my lifetime from now on Audits the agencies cuts waste, and and follows constitutional Law. This isn't a tit for tat. This is Corruption and crimal activity, vs accountability and rule of law. This isn't quid pro quo, this is the idea of accountability and justice.
what has Trump done to tackle corruption on the Republican side? I am genuinely curious. because I have seen nothing. that WOULD make me feel better about DOGE.

I spelled out what Trump could be doing. actually work with a friendly Congress to change the laws so this stuff CAN'T happen again. He can set some hardline goals, and say if they aren't met that something changes to meet the goals. put something down that is going to stand up.

My understanding is we have a budget coming out in March, I am not going to say Trump is actually saving us money until I see that the budget has actually gone down. If he saves us a trillion dollars of liberal bs but then turns around and spend the same trillion dollars on "conservative" bs, we, the people, haven't saved any money.

Trumps first run at president had similar glowing response from his fan club, and it ended up in the same mess we had been. There is reason to wait and see rather than just thinking everything is saved because DOGE cut 17 million from Ecuadorian gay monkeys.

I say yall slurp because you are incapable of even CONSIDERING everything Trump does as not being 100% a win. I am a Vols fan, but I am objective enough to be able to point out or agree that a play call was dumb. but yall can't even do that, and attack anyone who suggests otherwise.

This whole thing is playing out with absolute poetic justice. The Bullies are upset they can't bully people anymore with their corruption, and the irony is they created the very instrument of their undoing. They could care less about protocol, their upset their financial terrorism is ending.

Here's my take on what Trump is doing, how and why he's going about it this way.

A friendly Congress isn't going to help him in the endeavor. Too many of those friends are in on the grift. We've always wondered how these elected officials amass so much wealth with their salaries. Now we know. It's payoffs and embezzling funds with taxpayer money. It's hush money for wasteful spending.

Trump has balls for doing this, considering he's exposing CIA programs and indirectly the MIC. It's not going to have staying power IMO but it puts it out in the open for the American people. To confirm what we've long suspected.

Those with any objectivity know that Republicans are every bit as guilty and complicent.

If we hoped for true streamlined and efficient government this would isn't been handled in a different way, but the odds of it being successful were always going to be very low. Our problem is our elected officials, they have either allowed or created a cottage industry of corruption worth billions yearly, embezzled from you and I. And they only intended to ramp that grift up. You remember hiring all those extra IRS agents, changing tax law intended to put more and more people in conflict with their taxes.

Meanwhile 3 mega corporations own virtually everything....... Almost all real estate......... Everything. They will never allow this grift to end. All Trump is doing is giving us a look behind the curtain and into Oz. That's all he really can do.

He did some really stupid stuff, but this is actually probably the best he is capable of. I don't think he's capable of reforming and cutting out corruption.

that corruption is why I would be interested in seeing Trump tackle it on the right too. you aren't really fighting corruption if you are ignoring half of the known causes.

it doesn't even need to be a 50/50 split on what is being caught, although that would be preferred. but right now DOGE has found 37.69 Billion in corruption from the Dems, and 0 dollars in corruption from the Republicans. if there was an honest assessment going on there should be SOME dollars cut by now from Republican corruption.
