Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

Most of the spending DOGE is "uncovering" was publicly available on that spending website, they just rewrite everything as a "HUGE CRAZY SCANDAL for only the left"
This is valid to the extent that the income and the outflow reported on websites is trackable. Has seemed to be so many transfers of money between agencies/entities that what is reported as and "A" to "B" transaction is really a "a" to E" via "B,C, and D" transaction. The DOGE algorithms seem (by reporting) to be catching some of those inefficiencies. I think that is a good thing.

The "huge crazy scandal for the left" is likely due to a combination of factors, including,
First, The fact that DOGE appears to me be looking at recent spending, which would by definition be more Democrat controlled, and not at, say, the last 10 years, which would include Trump1, and, more importantly,
Secondly, Our news is dependent on outrage for revenue. So, reporting on outrage for actions of the left is profitable right not, the way outrage for actions of the right were profitable during Trump1.

and hit send. In most cases it's not that things are too classified, they just don't want to show their own spin and trust that their followers won't ask for backup (which has been true)
Yeah, no one does their homework.

I generally try to do a little work before forming an opinion. Plenty posters here don't. You generally know who doesn't because they resort to insults rather than actually acknowledging when they are wrong. (Not gonna name names, but at least one of those posters rhymes with "Mampmoxman.")

More transparency for you Nash, now where were you for years when we had no idea who was actually running the country?

Why do they need PR? Their job would be much easier if they operated quietly.

The people have a right to know where their money is being spent. And you damn well know they aren't going to get it from the MSM who (sometimes) are on the payrolls of the very same government. Sure, they can look it up for themselves, but DOGE is making it way easier to find.

I'm glad it's out in the open on places like Twitter and Facebook. People are starting to wake up and see for a fact the things they've suspected for a long time. I think most knew there was rampant fraud and waste, but Trump couldn't have had a more perfect storm with the disasters in the last four years including two very recent ones in Helene and California. People are pissed and rightly so over not getting government help and finding their tax dollars are going overseas with little accountability. Or being withheld for political reasons.

And now that racketeering with government officials has possibly entered the chat, it's an absolute win-win for Trump and you know he wants that publicized on every platform he can.

I’m not following. Why not shine a bright light on egregious government waste?

The PR is to get the message out to the citizens. The citizens need to do their part and hold their elected officials accountable on spending.

I’m really perplexed at your position on this. It’s irrational.

Because he wants to hide the fraud, waste and abuse directly against Americans themselves and throw in disclose criminal activity.

You're talking to person that didn't know its a crime to harbor criminals. That is what America is dealing with.

Lol. Imagine self identifying as a Libertarian, but the one time in history when a chainsaw is being taken to the bloated and corrupt bureaucracy, your only comment is "Why are they being so public about it?". Ron Swanson and Ron Paul would be glued to their TVs and giggling like school girls. But Eeyore the "LIB"ertarian has found a way to bitch about it.

You're not explaining why they need PR to do their job.

You think if they talk about waste suddenly voters are going to change how they hold officials accountable? Who didn't know there was egregious waste in government? Who? Not one person ITT who is satisfied with DOGE ongoings is asking "what about R's?" and that's how you know they're not changing anything with how we hold officials accountable.

I don't understand how tipping their hand helps them in instances where they say they are going after politicians who got suspiciously wealthy during their tenure. Imagine if LEO investigators did that. We're gonna raid Diddy's house later. We're tweeting this for PR.

Its not PR its transparency i.e. show Americans where their money is going.

What does it matter if they know? The deeds are already done and if they try and do more, you increase the charge count. Sometimes the coverup is worse than the initial crime.

How about you let other people do their job? Its been a little over three weeks, to say all of this is impressive would be quite an understatement.

The PR is needed to educate the public. The PR is needed to force Congressmen to take a position. The PR is needed to give those who hold the purse strings less places to hide. It’s just human nature. I’m surprised it needs to be explained?

As far as calling out R’s…you haven’t been paying attention. I’ve done it multiple times myself in just the last two days in this very thread - specifically R’s to include the speaker. I think all of Congress should be ashamed.

I'm not sure I believe that people will ask for or want receipts. Right now Elon can just say whatever he wants and people run with it, I doubt he departs from that approach anytime soon when it's working for him
See what I mean, they asked about transparency and AFAIK he didn't say he'd give more transparency at a later date, he just said he has a mandate

OK, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about whether or not it would be easier to do their job of slashing budget if they weren't so loud about it. You're arguing that they need to educate the public for a more accountable future. This needed explanation because you're arguing a different point.

Since you brought it up, education will do nothing. We already knew. We vote for what we think is the lesser of 2 evils.

YOu are complaining about the transparency, matter of fact, they having live hearings where DOGE employees are testifying under oath right now that you wish was not occurring.

Seriously, do you have a medical issue or something?

I think the DOGE effort will demonstrate we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. There are plenty of people who take the opposite view.

Just because the increased transparency won’t change your mind doesn’t mean it changed no one’s.

It will absolutely have an effect on Congress. To what extent remains to be seen. And that will be the ultimate measuring stick.

The people who don't understand this already are people who just believe we can get more revenue by raising taxes, and I don't see how DOGE changes that perception by calling out waste. They'll still believe we can raise taxes and get what they want.

Because they ran a campaign saying they would cut waste, and fraud i.e. keeping promises. Further, Trump ran that he would expose the wronging, furthermore when has transparency in this regard been bad for the public?

What are you even talking about?

Than you can elect your pretend independent candidate next time. The election is over.

There isn't anything complex or confusing about any of this.
