Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

The Democrats/left have to go after DOGE because it is exposing their corruption and waste. It is the most political impactful event in probably my entire lifetime. It is extremely popular, only dimwits, people that benefited from the corruption, or people too stubborn to admit they are wrong hate it.

Honestly, the posters on here arguing against it fall into either category 1 (dimwits) or category 3 (too stubborn to admit they were wrong). I think most are category 3. They are just in denial that they are wrong and too prideful to admit it.

DOGE is a libertarian and small government advocates dream come true. DOGE is literally killing the Democratic party right now by exposing all their corruption.

As I stated before, I think Trump killed the mainstream Republicans back in the 2016-2020 time frame and has now just destroyed the mainstream Democratic party as well.

Greatest democrat argument so far.

Dems - DOGE is a bunch of 20 year old kids. They don’t know what they are looking for or doing.

Dems- that child is 9 years old. They know if they’re transgender.
20 year olds can take a bullet for the country. Thank you for your service.

20 year old finding government waste, oh hell no.

The former was formally trained and vetted prior to deployment. The latter are just random dudes Musk found with zero experience in government, auditing, or really work.

My 99 f250 work truck has 650k miles on it. It runs like a champ without any major overhauls. Not long ago I figured out that it’s cost me 2k a year (roughly 53k total) to maintain and own in its lifetime. (Not including fuel) if we add in fuel it’s still going to way cheaper than any electric vehicle ever.

If cost over the long term is the concern then keeping a vehicle properly maintained and keeping it forever is the answer. (That doesn’t work with an electric vehicle)
That is why I maintain my 23 year old daily driver diesel (only 400k miles tho).

We all become conservatives eventually.
I don't think it's solely a conservative position to be concerned about debt. Actually, I don't think, given that something like 75% of our debt has occurred under GOP leadership, that it's a Republican position.

It's a matter of tax and spend priority, not whether it's debt or not.

Is it? They've given little evidence of the fraud, they're currently cutting deep into programs they don't understand, and so far many of their smoking gun claims have been proven false. They're not actually transparent and they're not trained to even do this sort of work. More, it's looking to be wholly unconstitutional. Congress appropriates funds. Unelected appointees don't get to cancel appropriations.

I'm not sure how all these Republican-supported programs are so rife with, uh...Democrat corruption?

You have given no evidence of your claims in this post, the irony.

Has the DOGE team canceled any appropriation?

Thomson Reuters Special Services CEO Steve Rubley told CNN that “recent public discourse” has “inaccurately represented the nature of the business” between Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS) and the Department of Defense.

He added that the accusations wrongly conflated the Reuters news agency with TRSS, which are separate legal entities that operate “independently” and have separate boards of directors.

In 2018, under Trump’s first term, the US government awarded TRSS a $9.1 million contract to develop defenses against “social engineering” cyberattacks that use “social deception” tactics to manipulate individuals into revealing sensitive information, according to CNN.

The project continued until 2022 when the Biden administration ended the contract.

“TRSS has provided software and information services to US government agencies across successive administrations for decades to assist in identifying and preventing fraud, supporting public safety and advancing justice,” Rubley told CNN.

Those advancing the view that DOGE's should be a diligent and transparent effort are not wrong. If they are not already, the newly appointed agency heads should be collaborating with DOGE to verify the spend; this takes very little time and ensures these are not just tabloid-like news splashes.

DOGE should also itemize these in a running spreadsheet that lists the contract #, amount, designated entity, stated reason for the award, actual usage of the award, and the reason the award was approved or denied. This will cut through the enormous clutter of every T, D, and Harry broadcasting BS about DOGE and agency actions. Elon needs to tamp it down and roll with this process. You can always tout the cuts after accounting for them in this way and providing transparency.

Yeah that doesn't sound good at all. 😂
