The REAL reason so many Democrats are upset about entitlements (social security, medical, etc) fraud investigations is that they are using your taxpayer money as handouts to attract and retain ILLEGAL immigrants. Their future voters.

If this Social Security news pans out, then it will probably prove to be the biggest fraud and incompetence event in the history of the United States and a big reason for the future insolvency of the Social Security retirement payments. Jesus, how could this have went on for so long?

Bigger than the U.S. funding and military supporting U.S. enemies (terrorist groups) which have cause $100s of billion if not trillions, Americans lives including civilians and military?

Using a base line of 20 million illegal payments a month of $1,000 each would be a trillion dollars every five years. (please check my math) Then yes it is larger than anything else.

Well, think of what it would be like if you had to do it.
People are born, and at some point you have a process that you issue them a number. You keep track of this person and collect taxes using this number. Now multiply that by 500 million.

Later, they reach retirement age. You start sending them money every month. Now multiply that by 500 million.

It's not that easy to keep up with this stuff if you're lazy. It takes motivation. It takes real work. There are going to be people that die and you don't know. There are going to be errors in the database. There would be fake people in the data, but if you don't pay taxes as a fake person, there is not much use in that (fortunately). what you get out is based on what you put in, up to a point.

The guys hacking these systems are trying to think of questions that will help. This was just a really good one. Super simple query of the data. Super simple.

Sadly, fraudulence and incompetency has been a problem in human governments since the freaking Stone Age. It is basically a trait in mankind at this point. You do have regimes that clean it up for brief periods but that doesn't last.

More likely to be missing dates handled by a database or language (cobol) than checks being cashed. This was investigated a couple years ago.

A table with no substance is worthless
