Sen. Ernst's best example of former presidents living high on the taxpayer hog is the Obamas. She cited their highly profitable deal with Netflix to produce content and a $65 million book deal with Penguin Random House publishers. This is not Ernst's first attempt to rein in the post-presidential gravy train. She introduced a similar bill in 2016, which passed both the House and the Senate. Ironically, it was vetoed by Obama.

If this Social Security news pans out, then it will probably prove to be the biggest fraud and incompetence event in the history of the United States and a big reason for the future insolvency of the Social Security retirement payments. Jesus, how could this have went on for so long?
It went exactly how they wanted it to go.

Space X Being Brought in to Overhaul the FAA Air Traffic Control System

This is so breathtakingly stupid. Add in the mass firing of ATC and we may be on the precipice of loss of much of the public trust in the safety of flying.
Yes, with their inability to figure out how to launch satellites, catch and reuse rockets, and transport astronauts for a fraction of what NASA was charging, they will probably have trouble improving a broken ATC system that is suffering from multiple decades-old technology.

Of all the dumb takes I've seen, that one is up there.

According to reports, the cost of building the HealthCare.gov website significantly exceeded initial estimates, reaching around $1.7 billion by August 2014, with initial contract-based costs estimated at around $93.7 million that inflated to roughly $292 million.

I think the decoder ring reveals the translation as: "Oh ****. Musk will absolutely nail this and we can't have the public liking him even more!"

Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) is a spectroanalytical procedure for the quantitative measurement of chemical elements. AAS is based on the absorption of light by free metallic ions that have been atomized from a sample. An alternative technique is atomic emission spectroscopy (AES).

I was just about to post this, except I was going to go into more detail so why don’t you go ahead and explain to the neophytes how that all works.
