Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

The idea that sending taxes back will even out ignores that 1% pay like 99% of taxes and they wouldn't be dumping that money into Appalachian churches to feed kids.

Taxation is theft is such a dumb argument.
Ouch. You're arguing for 1% to shoulder the burden of feeding the kids under threat of destroying their lives, instead of letting communities voluntarily come together in mutual love and care for their own.

You're a heartless brute.

Lol. There’s absolutely no doubt we are overtaxed and underserved. We don’t have a revenue problem we have a wasteful spending problem. Imagine how many kids could be fed if we didn’t allowed millions of illegal invaders to walk right in. Imagine how many kids could be fed if we don’t throw hundreds of BILLIONS to Ukraine. Again, your solution to bad parenting is to punish everyone and they should just accept it for “the greater good”.

Let the states do it then. Remove a layer of bureaucracy and put the needs closer to the funding. There is zero rationale why this should be funded at the federal level other than to promote big government socialism.
It fosters dependency amongst the public.
It serves as a cudgel to be used against States.

All the rationale they need.

Individuals are welcome to do as Jesus would do. Government entities are not welcome to promote one religion over others. I don't understand what point you're trying to make.
You asked WWJD and I responded with my opinion of what he would do.

Biden today pledged a billion dollars in aid to African flood victims...can't make this stuff up. I'm not a fan of the Fed bailing out flood victims anywhere. But if I had to choose who was bailed out....

I'm actually not so sure Jesus would have hung the 10 Commandments. They tried to crown Him as King, and He was very clear that this is not a physical Kingdom (yet). Pilate asked Him about His Kingdom and He doubled down on it. He told Peter He could have called hosts of Angels to implement His will against Rome, yet didn't.

There will be a time that He physically rules the world, but I don't think He'd be here now trying to implement a Theocracy via the good old USA. When that time comes, every nation will be judged and every knee shall bow.

Oh, they're poor or black, so who cares, right?

Plenty of people in here grew up with plenty and it shows. I'm not sure y'all realize the lengths that the government, churches, and food banks go to keep kids fed. The amount of federal spending in Summer programs for food.

It's absolutely freaking wild that we are in 2024 with people complaining at we don't need to provide food because these families have enough to not be dead.

But hey, toss a couple bucks in the plate Sunday so you can feel good about that one trip some of the Youth Group took to Africa to fake build a church or school that totally wasn't just a big fun safaril
you are literally making the same argument.

hey, government steal a couple more dollars from the citizens on April 15th so we can feel good about not getting the needy the help they really need. How dare private citizens chose to give to charities or volunteer the government should be telling them what to do.

as if the government is any better.

Ridiculous. “$750 for you and a billion for you”.

Point is, Obama flushed the cash.
I agree. just as someone who actually worked with Solyndra before/as they were getting that money I was offering a little context.

there is a reason I repeat that Obama killed green innovation in this country, and it was all so he could be the smartest guy in the room.

LMFAO you believe government spending is efficient. That’s awesome
He's leaving out all the audits that the Federal gov't can't pass. All the billions of $$$s unaccounted for. "It's public money with budgetary line items", except all the times it's public money that just goes missing.

It's the same gov't. The Pentagon is just the best example of federal mismanagement and lack of efficiencies.

Since it won't change, you just bolster our argument to get the Fedz out of it.

Everything your local school board spends is accounted for.

Federal government provides a grant. Your local board ran by your neighbors spends it. Your neighbors cook it. Your neighbors serve it....TO YOUR NEIGHBORS.

The idea that your money should funned to a tax-exempt organization to pay staff THEN give out food only to those who can manage to get to them being more efficient than local schools providing it to kids already there is insane.

A whole lot of "you're dumb" and "this is a strawman" and "this isn't efficient" from a group of folks with zero ideas of their own other than the idea that somehow taxes will "flow" to churches and charities. As if the 1% paying 99% of taxes will just dump that money into schools here. LOL.

Out of national defense? Uh...

Why do you believe the function of the school system is to feed children?
A fed student can learn. A hungry student doesn't. We have kitchens and staff. We already, by law, have to provide enough food for everyone. This just takes payment out of the equation. It's tax dollars going back to taxpayers. Every dollar you don't spend on your kid's lunch is a dollar into your local economy. Simple math.

Again, you've completely misrepresented the arguments, after several corrections. Congrats.

Minus all the waste and inefficiency that comes with a bloated $240B federal bureaucracy.

Then shorten the path and keep the taxation in state. Local or state taxes. No need whatsoever to add the inefficiency of the federal government
