Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

He has a group taking over the sensitive payments system. Thats been reported

So who is the balance to this and who is checking the legality? This isn't even the place that's making those decisions.

This is pure partisan politics that you all screamed about for the past 4yrs. The shift is hilarious and pitiful at the same time

Sounds like they are shutting it all down, more or less. There isn't anything hilarious that I can see going on. Sounds like they cutting off the deepstate and the other lunatic actors.

DOGE Goes to War on NPR and PBS by Threatening to Cut Government Funding

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee announced that it is going to war with National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS)

In two letters sent to the CEOs of the outlets - Katherine Maher and Paula Kerger - Marjorie Taylor Greene, the DOGE subcommittee chair, called on them to testify on Capitol Hill to defend the government funding they use to share 'systematically biased content.'

Greene said that the department plans to address its concerns about the station's 'blatantly ideological and partisan coverage' at the hearing, scheduled for either the week of March 3 or March 24.

In each letter, the subcommittee gave examples of 'bias' reporting done by both NPR and PBS against Elon Musk - the head of DOGE - and cited NPR's decision to not report on Hunter Biden's laptop scandal.

In the one sent to Kerger, the subcommittee said: 'Recently PBS implied that Mr. Elon Musk made a fascist salute while addressing an inaugural celebration hours after President Donald Trump was sworn into office,' referring to the Tesla CEO's hand gesture that's sparked major controversy online.

On a serious note, I suppose a sovereign wealth fund could be good depending on setup. But do we really want the federal government owning TikTok? A little different than Amtrak and NASA.

No, Amtrak is a great example of why we don't want the USG owning anything that should be making a profit.

It opens the door for pumping federal dollars into the businesses of political allies of the president.

Really? Looks like he had 2 different reactions to the same offense depending on whether he agreed or not. One person got called a criminal and banned while the other was retweeted and agreed with

I guess I don't pretend to know that much about twitter. His comment is spot on.

I see it as twitter shutting down criticism of the govt department doge. Pretty sure that was called a bad thing not too long ago
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Elon put that guy on blast for publicly posting a listing of people working in DOGE, presumably so they could be targeted? I have no issue with that.
