Please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Elon put that guy on blast for publicly posting a listing of people working in DOGE, presumably so they could be targeted? I have no issue with that.

People shouldn't be targets, agreed. The problem is Elon did this and it was okay:

I hadn't seen that, but I don't agree with that either. Fire them, but don't post lists of names online.

FWIW, I've never liked Elon. I think he's a pompous a$$. I do think he is tailor-made for this type of project though.

These are more dangerous times than I think we realize. Plenty of fiery, unstable ideologues out there.

The exact same thing Elon did by retweeting posts where people named "worthless" govt employees. Those people were actually targeted based on his tweets

If he's a govt official, is this not an attack on 1st amendment rights by banning those critical of govt?

There was this time in history, I think it was the 1930s or 40s, where this group of semi-official folks went around in the name of a Dear Leader and sort of took control like this. Sort of secret in their powers and authority. Had special uniforms and everything.

What the government was doing not only with X, facebook, etc. were not one offs from what we can tell, furthermore you had government trying to force them to do many of these things. Its not that you are wrong, but maybe a bit earlier to something that might never happen in mass.

He's used to breaking SEC/FAA/whatever and dealing with the results. He needs to have his little rich hands smacked for getting into the Treasury system using glorified interns....NONE of which seemingly have security clearance

Everyone that had no concerns with Sleepy Joe storing classified material which he was never should have had in his garage, and the people that didn't seem to care that Hillary was electronically storing classified email system in her closet than on purpose tried to cover it up..... now are all up in arms because someone might be looking payments in a Treasury system that may or maybe not be classified and what seems to be official business.

I wonder if this is why Musk was designated a special government employee under Trump today? If this has legs, it might have been too late. Even if there are fines, it will be a drop in the bucket.
