This has probably already been hashed out on VN, so pardon the thread but I'm hoping some folks more knowledgeable than me can weigh in.

Why has UT had depth issues at seemingly every damn position for multiple years now. We have walk-ons in our two-deep rotation, what is that crap? Have we not been recruiting enough bodies to fill all positions or what?

Attrition. Only 2 players remain from Kiffin's class. Combine that with the # of marginal players Dooley signed.
Dooley didn't sign an O lineman last year. Cannon gone. Gray gone.

Depth is not a concern but the quality of the depth on the roster is the problem.

When you lose almost an entire recruiting class (Kiffin's), lose kids early (our entire offense less OL), 2 years of bad recruiting/coaching (Dooley) plus graduation, it's going to be that way.

Give Butch time. I know, I hate hearing that too, but it is what it is.

Quality depth I think is our problem.

correct - we have people at the positions, just not the quality you would want

it is also a problem at certain positions and not really at others

for ex we have 3 really quality safeties

we have zero LB's that can run - missed on a couple in recruiting, had some injuries, the LB's recruited for the 3-4 are too slow, etc

so it is much more striking at certain positions

"You remember that time we woke up that boy at the frat house and he came and kicked our XP's...."

That my friend, is our depth issue, now its just at every position.

I actually thot the depth issue wouldn't be such a big deal anymore, even with injuries. What did I know.

Rivals, 247, ESPN keep messing up the recruiting system. Oh and they hate us. Plus all that other stuff with coaches living, players leaving, smoking pot, other teams getting better while we're playing catch, spurrier went to USCe, LSU has free sluts for recruits, Sabans a hypnotist, Kentucky has wrs that are god at QB, Vandys GPA got anchored down for the players to qualify, ole miss..not yet sure about them($) ;) or the free hospital jobs, TA&M gives out free autographs, FLA has god on there side "tbow", Missouri sucks they don't count, and I'm sure I'm missing a few other reasons but that's a start.

Below is a list of players from the 2009 - 2012 teams that left the teams before their eligibility was complete.
Not for the N.F.L. but for other reasons.

This is after Fulmer left:

(1) B.J. Coleman (2)M. Edwards (3) C. Donald (4) A. Douglas (5) M. Hughes (6) A. Paige (7) L. Creer (8)
D. Rogan (9) D. Swatelle (10) N. Stephens (11) B. Vinson (12) B. Warren (13) T. Williams (14) B. Brown (15) D. Myles (16) T. Meline (17) N. Oliver (18) C. Fugate
(19) J. Jackson (20) E. Gordon (21) D. Oku (22) J. Askew (23) J. Schofield (24) M. Milton (25) A. Jeffery (26) D. Arnett (27) T. Page (28) I. Lanier (29) D. Rogers (30) C. Clear

I am positive that there are more names but I can't think of any more. On this list, I see q.b., rb, o-line, d-line, receivers, T.E.,

Tennessee needs to go the Oklahoma State route with Recruiting Hostesses. That would really pull the recruits in.:eek:lol::devilsmoke::cool2:

The fact that a couple walk ons and some freshmen were able to beat out older players explains the situation were in right now.

Of our QB's, RB's, WR's, TE's, and DB's...would any of them start for Bama, LSU, UGA, SC, UF?
