He absolutely squandered the most explosive offensive talent we've had in decades. Bray, Hunter, CP and Da'Rick, with this offensive line and last year's defense, would have been exciting to watch. I still don't see how he did it. smh.

Dooley squandered offensive talent? They've averaged 36 points a game this year!

Dooley's ultimate demise will be thanks to a wet paper bag defense. 114th in points against!

Based on overall winning (or losing) percentage, he technically is NOT the worst coach in UT History. S.D. Crawford, J.D. DePree, and Alex Stone were worse.

Not exactly true
Among Tennessee coaches to last at least three seasons, Derek Dooley has the worst win percentage (.417) in school history.

He was already fired and knew it. That's why he pulled that crap!

That's what I've been saying. That's also why my opinion has changed from "he needs to go but let's be classy about it" to "F him we need to run him out of town"

He has to go down as one of the worst in SEC history. I've been (somewhat) joking the past few weeks that UT could have announced that they'd hired Hal Mumme or Woody Widenhofer to replace Dooley and I would have said to myself, "Well, we've upgraded." That's how bad he's been.

I can see why everyone thinks so. But I still blame Lane Kiffin!! By far he's the worse!!!:mf_surrender:

You mean the guy who went 7-5, beat UGA and SC with two walkons on the O-line, and resurrected Crompton's career to the point that he got a look in the NFL?

Who was the clown who replaced Drunk Bowden? McDonald or something? Changed the unis to orange and blue. I think he was worse.

He won more games with the worst roster in UT history than he did with actual talent.

Are you kidding? At least 7 players from this offense and 3 from defense will be playing in the NFL in the next 2 years. The reason they couldn't win is because the coaching has sucked!

I would keep Dooley over taking Kiffin back and wouldnt think twice. Dooley didnt win here but he loved this place and was very appreciative of the opportunity. Lane Kiffin will be by far remembered as being worse for the program than Dooley will.

Yes. And it's not even close.

What's really sad is that a guy has to prove that he's the worst coach in our program's history and perhaps the worst coach in the entire SEC in the modern era, before we take any action and fire the guy.

This has to be the most sheepish fanbase in all of college football. I mean seriously, 4-5 weeks ago most of the people on here thought he deserved another year. Please stop giving people the benefit of the doubt to such unreasonable extremes. If they hire another loser this go around, please recognize it for the slap in the face it is. Don't bury your head in the sand like last time.

In my view, the team never had any sort of identity to rally around when things got rough. A successful team knows in their heart of hearts that when everything goes to heck, they can rely on some fundamental skill that no one can stop. We never had that.

As an alum of almost 40 years and who was there for the Bill Battle era nothing and I mean nothing or no one compares to Dooley. Seriously he can't coach a lick. He took Prentiss Wagnner who was All SEC and made him a liability not an asset. Just don't get it.

Prentiss Wagnner is terrible...just plain terrible and couldn't play for ANY OTHER SEC team...

there are plenty of other reasons to use--but this one says that you are not smart! :salute:

Yeah, I mean that guy...who did more to decimate the program here in 1 year than ANYONE in the history of UT Football...and we're still suffering probation for his oversight over the program....
