justin's got it right: Bush said he wanted to close Gitmo because it was the right thing to do, Obama said he wanted to close Gitmo so he could appease the far-left libtards.

and both ran into the same problems with closing Guantanamo....too many legal and political risks in closing Gitmo now or any time soon. Cheney said about Gitmo "if you didn't have it, you would have to invent it."
