Developing story on Mel Tucker

I've no sympathy Michigan State especially with the choice to basically cancel all the football NIL contracts. That's going to lead to a mass exodus and very poor recruiting. The NIL cancellation makes me think they're trying to "burn it down."

Let it burn. Maybe they'll complete Act III of this tragi-comedy by offering Mel Tucker money to Deion to "rescue" the program. 🤡😂🙄
Good luck luring Coach Prime with the bungee cords eliminating personal brands omnipresent in the background frame. 😏

IMO Michigan State dropping the NIL for football is the equivalent of telling the B1G, "We're just here for the TV money check."

No serious coach is coming to a B1G program that just sabotaged it's NIL. That job is going to be where someone's career goes to die.

A sideshow, out of left field hire like Prime may be all Michigan State can do.

Just sayin no way that sideshow signs up for that ****show.

Wish I could have seen the look on the face of Ramil's dad when this hit the fan. 😂

When are WE all going to learn to quit rushing to judgement when a celebrity gets caught up in a civil or criminal legal situation? I used to be as bad about it as the next person but these past few years has gotten me a lot more circumspect about matters like this with Mel Tucker.

You're absolutely right, man. It's easy (and frankly, lazy) to seize on the accusation and not wait to see things play out. The number of folks out there with their own agendas or axes to grind is countless.

It’s hard not to assume guilty. Maybe because generally speaking women don’t come forward. (There’s a whole psychological story behind that but I’ll save it). But you are right. We shouldn’t rush to conclusions.

It seems like with high profile guys like these cases always get lumped into one of two categories. Either the woman is a gold digger or attention seeker (if he’s found guilty) or the guy is part of some big cover up (if he’s found innocent). All we can hope and pray is that justice is served.

He admitted to masturbating on the phone with the lady he met via employing her to speak at the school. Consensual or not, his job was toast after he admitted that relationship existed.

How did you meet her? At work.
You just ran into her while you were working? No, I hired her to speak with the team, but our relationship wasn't work related.
🙄🤷‍♂️
You're fired, Mel.

You really don't want the evidence in the phones and other sources to come out, do you? That's what @Remy meant.

You really don't want the evidence in the phones and other things to come out, do you? You don't know when they met. You don't know how many times this has happened? What has been made public and what has not vastly distorts one's understanding of a case.

And he was really not smart to talk before consulting an attorney. Like he was going to mea culpa and everyone would respect that and forgive him.

Michigan State has a long, sorry history in matters of this sort, although this seems to be the least of the events. I'd be interested to hear the whole story.
He hired her. Admitted.
She had a second paid talk scheduled, he postponed it. Admitted.
He had a relationship with her. Admitted.

You just can't do that. You can't have personal relationships with people you have a business relationship with AND you have the control over whether that business relationship continues.

You cannot be in a position of "the boss" or "the person who controls whether or not they get paid" over someone you're romantically involved with. You'll get fired by your employer because they don't want to get sued if it goes south.

Consensual, not the issue. You still can't do it. It's not equal if you have control over their work or the money they make. You have leverage. Even if you don't use it, your employer can fire you because you're putting them at risk for a harassment lawsuit.

In Mel's case, he had a clause about embarrassing Michigan State. He's certainly done that by what he was doing on the phone and by being taken in by this lady if she was playing him.

The emails will only increase the embarrassment for him looking like a fool and Michigan State looking like they hired an idiot who couldn't keep it zipped.

Yeah, it sounds like you're saying you really, really do not want the information to come out.

There are multiple cases at law here. It is not merely a question of whether MSU can fire him. It seems like you don't see beyond that simple question. I don't even like Tucker. I don't like MSU. But he has a right to discovery. He has a right to fair court proceedings. I can imagine all sorts of scenarios that would change the overall understanding of the cases before the court(s) (perhaps not the firing). Unless a judge made the pertinent information verboten. It happens more often than you likely realize. I am concerned lest a citizen be deprived of his right to the whole complex of facts by a judge who is influenced by media, public pressure, and the desires of the largest corporation in East Lansing. What's your principled objection to
emails [that] will only increase the embarrassment for him looking like a fool and Michigan State looking like they hired an idiot
if he is a defendant in multiple legal proceedings and he asks for the information?

Let's agree to disagree.

Supposedly, Mel’s attorneys hired a group of PI’s to dig up dirt on the lady, and they got into her iCloud and tried to get that information allowed. And the judge slapped them down.

Or that’s the word from people around MSU
