Rush's show isn't comedy. I just have a hard time believing a comedy show has some agend to brainwash the youth into hating the right.
This is what I mean. The show may have his opinions - but does he want to use his show to change the world? I don't think so.
depends on the level of bias displayed. there is a fine line between bias and agenda, but stewart jumped over that line years ago.
i find it hard to believe that people who believe that strongly one way or another don't want to change other people's opinions. fanaticism works this way.
And where do you draw that line and how is it defined? Is it mere coincidence that you disagree with most of his viewpoints and refer to his material as a deliberate agenda rather than letting his own bias come through? On the other side of the same coin, since this thread is primarily about Fox News, do you see the nature, language and structure of FNC reporting as being deliberately formed around a conservative framework and agenda?
I don't understand how you can throw the word 'agenda' around like its commonplace. That's a pretty extreme word, imo. I'm sticking with the theory that you dislike Stewart/the subject is sensitive for you.
stewart's poltiical influence should not be underestimated. if he wants to just make it a comedy show he should stick to the comedy and keep his political views out of it. it's not as though there isn't plenty of dumb to go around in DC to make fun of without driving your agenda.
but someone has to mine that gold - for some reason almost all comedians stay away from Obama.
I really can't figure out why.
Because they love his rhetoric.
Also it'd hard for SNL to do a "57 states" joke on Obama when a lot of the public isn't even aware that their silver-tongued prophet has speaking gaffes from time to time.
Palin was an easy target for SNL because various media outlets were all over her every time she had a "57 states" moment.
