Yeah, who wants a 6'2" 202lb 18 year old LB who runs a 4.7 second 40..

We have 10 spots to fill in the next 11 or so days. I have posted that our LB corps isn't as bad as it seems, I believe that, however we do have 2 redshirts coming in at that position and 3 players coming off injury.

So by all means lets not take this guy..:banghead2:

im not saying dont take him. we dont really have a choice. but please, dont pretend you wouldve wanted this guy in november when we were in it with Taylor, Luc, Jones, etc. this is a pick-me-up we need to fill a void. w/e, my opinion means little. i hope he becomes a beast.

and the coaching staff has had little time to work with. i wonder if the offer wouldve been extended had the staff had been in the recruiting fold a lot longer with other recruits...

Who cares..... He is a Vol now and I welcome him and glad e have him :hi:

He is a LB accdg to himself and what coaches told him...he only played DE cuz his team needed him too...underrated kid since he doesnt have much film as a LB since he played DE...We need all the depth we can get at LB so I have no problem with this pickup...Lance has liked him for a long time apparently...Ausmus Prime can help with his speed but its is really about instinct/play recognition more than 40 time at LB

U R correct. Circumstances are not the same as in November. You said "I do not want this guy" I would have agreed with you in Nov. But I disagree with you in Jan.

We cant use the scholarships next year that we dont use this year.

Good post. Very accurate.

Maybe a diamond in the rough. As long as he's got the potential and is a hard worker, I'm not one to doubt. It looked like Georgia and Auburn were interested but just hadn't offered yet.

So with the addition of the last 3 commets, over the past few days, where does everyone think our class will end up being ranked?

My goodness, can you imagine if you were a recruit and you or your friends came on a place like this and all the fan base was talking about is how they dont want you.

We are looking at measurables here folks. Look at the measurables on JJ McCleasky and think about the impact he had on this program.

Not every kid that comes in is going to be a 4.5 LB that goes to the NFL, but if he can contribute to this team in years 4 and 5 thats still a great signing.

Put this kid in a weight room and get him on a proper strength and conditioning program and he will be 6'2 225 in no time, and that forty time just may cut a tenth to a 4.6.

Now if thats his measurables going into his redshirt sophmore year was he still a bad signing? And if not, he can play special teams and contribute to this team and who knows maybe there are leadership qualities in a kid that already gave up his most recruitable position to play Defensive end cause it made more sense for his TEAM.

We know very little about these recruits and to judge them like some of you are to the point of not even wanting them on a team when we will be lucky to get to the 28 scholorship limit for this year. Sometimes I dont get it.

for sure..Lance and Dooley are used to finding diamonds in the rough from building LSU then Lance at UCF and then rebuilding Bama again and Dooley from La tech as well. Chaney as well from Purdue days.

CLK has always had the luxury of just recruiting the obvious talent since he has always walked into a luxury position. Coach O and Monte were guys I trusted with their evaluation on underrated guys.

I would rather have a 2* with motivation, upside, and a good work ethic than a 5* super DUD like Chris Donald who reached his ceiling for growth and improvement in high school. Does anybody disagree??

A little life lesson: Never let someone else (or in the case, another school) tell you what you want. If you have the right coaches you can turn a scouted 2 star player into a 5 star player.

Kid has potential, let him use it.

Dude is a good football player playing out of position in HS out of necessity.

IMO he would transition better LB than Eddrick Loften because he has pklayed DL and has a grasp of how to take on and defeat blocks

Whether you want him or not...he's a VOL!!! Screw who else offered him.

There are plenty of NFL linebackers who came from small D1 schools and D2 schools...
