Different camera angle on Pig Fumble. MUST SEE!

You have to look at both replays to get an idea. The replay from the broadcast leaves the viewer wondering wether or not Pig had control of the ball in his left hand. This video (IMO) shows that he did have control which influences how you view the first replay. Give it a go with fresh eyes. Here's a gif of the side angle.

Gif makes it look like if he just continues to hold it with two hands in the air, he scores anyway. So close.

Its the hit from the GA player that knocks the ball out of Pig's fingertips by creating a lateral shock in Howard's body. Otherwise the ground jars it loose.

Yeah I saw that. I'm talking about the extra extension he made by moving to his left arm and reaching. It wasn't necessary.

BTW in my view said shock occurred after the ball crossed the plane.

Get your facts straight before you go off.

Edit: Pitiful.

Its raining douches!

Says the guy who spends his posts bashing AJ Johnson.

Just FYI, I said that he didn't need to extend with his left hand, because he would would've scored maintaining possession with both hands, and then we wouldn't have 5 threads about it. If you don't like people having opinions different from you, then hit the ignore button.

I might have been clearer. My view, he had possession of the ball in his left hand and crossed the plane with possession. The ball was then jarred loose by the lateral shock to his body otherwise the ground would have knocked in loose in the endzone. TD.

I'm glad you've established those rules so we now know how to be a proper fan. I'm sure you'll last long around here.

1) The call on the field was touchdown.

2) He clearly fumbles the ball before landing.

3) He removes his right hand from the ball in an attempt to extend for the goal line with the ball in his left hand. He possesses the ball with his left hand for a brief time before losing possession. Granted, It was not a very secure possession, but it is possible to possess a ball with one hand in this nature. The ball shows no signs of spinning or being out of control until around the time it crosses the goa line.

Had it been ruled a touchback on the field, there is no way one can conclusively rule otherwise. However it was ruled a touchdown on the field and I have seen no conclusive evidence that it was not a touchdown.

I've watched it a dozen times, both angles.

And I can't tell. I believe it was a fumble, but the more replays I watch, I believe it's possible that he did have control up until the instant the ball broke the plane of the goal.

But stated another way, it's a fumble. Whether he conclusively did or didn't possess the ball long enough. It's a fumble because the referees said that it was.

Herein lies the caveat! NOTHING after that ball touched the front of that goal line is relevant in determining whether this was a fumble. This video angle also proves that this ball absolutely was NOT loose when he purposefully switched it to one hand.

Iamgine watching the side view after seeing this deliberate swap to one hand. Then put up a curtain from the front of the goal line through the endzone.

If you see him switch to his right hand, then watch that same right hand carry the ball right to the GL plane, as the defender is hitting him, you CANNOT under ANY circumstance overturn the on field call with INDISPUTABLE video evidence of a fumble. The ball indisputably came loose AFTER touching the plane. That is irrelevant to determining a fumble BEFORE the plane.

We got robbed. But it was a tough call. They should have just let it stand.

Looks to me like he had possession of the ball with his left hand when it broke the goal line. I know the CBS replay did not look that way, but you couldn't see his left hand on that camera. One of the commentators even made that observation before the decision. I think he scored. The zebra on the field said he scored. Repeat, you could NOT see his left hand on the replay, and that was the hand holding the ball.

Now that's what I'm talking about vol fans!

It's a crap rule anyway. He didn't intentionally throw it into and our of the end zone. Anywhere else on the field and we retain possession at the spot where the runner last maintained control of the ball. Garbage rule cost us huge.

Still damn proud of our team!

Danielson observed Pig had control with his finger tips, then instantly flipped. Definitely has influenced perception before the rigorous VolNation studies have emerged.
