I have a friend who's father is in the higher echelon of the Directv corporate ladder and he stated the same thing that was printed in an article this morning in USA Today. Their big hangup seems to be making non sports fans paying for a sports channel. It still boggles my mind, I have directv and I pay for channels that I have no interest in, that other people do. It's all part of a package anyway. Anyways, I'm still sweating it out, c'mon Directv, shape up!!!

Hell, dey just gonna have tah grin and bare it ! :)

C'mon Man!

Tennessee does have a pro team, you know. And what about keeping up with all those NFL #VFL's? You can watch Eric Berry and KC Chiefs, Peyton and the Broncos, and Arian "taco man" Foster every week on DirecTV!

Question: when I signed up for Directv a few months back, THEIR salesperson told me yes, 100% YES they would be carrying the SEC network. Could I get out of my contract with them due to false advertising? Be interesting to see what a court would say. Would have never signed with them if I thought they would not get the network.

the salesperson didnt lie. The question is not IF DTV will carry the SEC network, but WHEN will they begin carrying it.

direct tv is better than dish, but if they don't get the SEC network, i will be looking at dish or cable.

No way I am leaving DirecTV for punk @ss Comcast. People just need to chill and not wuss out and run away.

DirecTV will most definitely be carrying the SEC network. That is not a question. The only issue is where they will put it (in what package) and when will they get the negotiation with ESPN done.

That's it. Just wait. Even if you miss the first game, its not a big enough deal to change providers, especially change to Comcast (blehhh).

No way would I give up DirecTV for Dish. I have the college sports package and often get to see UT's Pay-Per-View games included and lots of UT basketball....not to mention NFL Sunday Ticket is like crack for a football fan.

You HAVE to think DirecTV will get the deal done....they're just holding out for leverage.

If they don't pick up the SEC channel then you won't get to see any UT games. I blame the AT&T buyout for the delay.

I've had Directv for a while, and they are more greedy than anything. When WWE network was released, Directv immediately cut off any WWE PPV limiting fans who couldn't afford the $10 a month for the network. So now, if you don't have the network you can't watch any ppv's unless you stream them on the internet for free. Dish did the same thing concerning WWE, my question is when does the greediness stop?

This makes zero sense. If someone can't afford $10 for the WWE Network, how can they afford $40-$50 for a WWE pay per view?

Off topic: just got off phone with Charter rep. She said that it is set to launch August 14 and will be added to Charter on August 3rd and that it had a $120 price tag and mid season it will be $79.99. She stated that it is early and doesn't know if specific sections of the US will have the the channel without an additional cost but to call back later this month.

Can someone please tell me that they have talked with Charter and have been given info that the channel will be added!?!?!

Good grief, how much is your cancellation penalty? I don't think its enough to go to court over.

The PAC-12 vs SEC is like RC Cola vs Coca Cola. :)

Not comparing the 2, the SEC is a much bigger conference and has more followers, just throwing it out there. Also, just to add, the Oregon games disappeared from the PPV line up and the college football plan once the PAC-12 network started. I am guessing the same will happen to our Vols games

Same here. I have the full boat Premier Package and get just about every game played Lady Vols, Men's BB, and FB. I believe they will get it done just maybe not by the 1st game or 2. They could just add the SEC Network to the Sports Pack and I would OK with that.

With that said, I'll be looking for a Stream for game 1.

I might be wrong but I think after this year there won't be anymore SEC games on those Fox sport net channels. There might not be that many this year.

Yeah, you may be right on that. I wondered myself if they would carry games once the SEC Network is in place. I also wonder if the Butch Jones Show will move to the SEC Network from Sport South. They may still do some replays.

Directv has to be the dumbest company around to not see the millions and millions of dollars they can make off the SEC Network. Worrying about non sports fans, BULL****!!! If you're so concerned about non sports fans, then where is your concern for myself, the non craft channel fan? Tell your lies to someone else.
They'll get it .probably mid august

I hear about these negotiations all the time since I work for DISH. The SEC Network is something I would not let get away, and I'm glad that we picked it up so quickly. 47 days.... :dance2:
