Does Florida really care? There are more people moving into Florida and Tennessee than they can handle at the moment, who needs another 2000? California is dying on the grapevine, with their massive budget deficit and their tax base leaving while the low wage immigrants move in. They are a state of takers and givers, and the givers are moving out.

Yes, they care or they wouldn't have offered hundreds of millions of dollars of incentives for Disney to move those jobs in the first place...

DeSantis has weaponized the FLDOR to go against "woke" companies like Target.

Just a really bad look and a really slippery slope. Rs can't complain about Bragg and his biased, politically-motivated prosecution when DeSantis is doing the same thing...

So Disney rejected hundreds of millions of dollars in incentives to stay in California? Sounds like they are ignoring their fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders.

I would suspect they are just postponing the campus construction until DeSantis is gone or they will move some of the jobs to GA...

Businesses want certainty when they are investing billions in an expanded campus. They want to know what the ROI would be on any investment.

They don't have that now.

As someone who works for Fortune 500 company, you don't want to be monetizing incentives with the same group (FLDOR) that is carrying out DeSantis' culture wars....

See anove...no certainty. You would be trying to claim/work through incentives with Dept of Revenue and that same group is being weaponized by DeSantis to go after woke companies...

Who is to say DeSantis wouldn't try to retroactively clawback earned incentives

I'm not liberal.. I just believe in govt not picking winners and losers....

I believe in govt officials not weaponizing agencies to go against political opposition. This isn't Iran

I made same exact comments in Trump Bragg thread. I'm consistent with my belief govt shouldn't be weaponized against opponents.

You - weaponizing govt is bad when the Ds do it. It's good and acceptable when the Rs do it to woke companies
