Veteran ESPN reporter Sage Steele has made a major announcement on social media after settling her lawsuit against the cable sports network and its owner Disney.

Steele took to her X account (formerly known as Twitter) to tell fans that her case is settled and she is now leaving the network.

“Having successfully settled my case with ESPN/Disney, I have decided to leave so I can exercise my first amendment rights more freely. I am grateful for so many wonderful experiences over the past 16 years and am excited for my next chapter!”

Steele, who joined ESPN in 2007, was suspended by the network in 2021 for her stance on the coronavirus vaccine. She was also admonished for talking about Barack Obama’s lineage and for speaking out about how too many women dress in today’s society on a podcast with former NFL player Jay Cutler.

After being suspended for exercising her freedom of speech, Steele sued Disney and ESPN in 2022. She accused her bosses of taking away high-profile assignments, violating her right to free speech, and breach of contract.

Report: Disney Seeking $330,000 Crisis PR Executive as It Battles LGBTQ Controversies, Financial Woes

The Walt Disney Company is reportedly seeking to hire a bevy of new public relations executives as it battles a string of bad news cycles, including financial woes that have led to the layoff of 7,000 workers and its ongoing fight with Florida over the studio’s insistence on pushing the radical LGBTQ agenda on children.

Disney shares are also languishing near a nine-year low, prompting a series of shareholder lawsuits that allege the studio has been deceiving investors by fudging its streaming numbers.

The new job postings, which were reported by the Intercept, include one position at $337,920 a year for a vice president of public affairs to lead a “communications team to assist senior executives in preparing for media events” and “interviews.”

Snow White's setup is such an odd fit. It is like the Little Mermaid setup but worse. It literally seems designed to make fun of the original film. I don't think it is even the diverse characters that is the problem but rather the insults about the original film that is turning off fans. The Little Mermaid had that old spill about how the canoe scene was so wrong and the film was masochists and now Snow White is going on about the same thing with the Prince waking her up. Why even make the movie if you aren't going to have the Prince kissing Snow White to wake her up? That is a basic core element of the original fable.

It would be like doing a film about Achilles but not having his heel as the weakness or a film about Samson but not having anything about his hair or Delilah in it.

It makes you wonder if Disney is just intentionally trying to kill itself. Nothing about the Snow White situation makes any sense. Perhaps all of these issues are a sign that maybe a remake of Snow White wasn't a good idea in the first place.

As you're describing it, they want this generation to be uncertain about true and honest and pure things and ways of the past ("from the beginning") ;

sounds like "progressives" and "emergent" even in the movie industry (turning against the intentions of the head of their own company !) . Sounds familiar --

"... focuses strongly on social justice and environmentalism and often includes a revisionist (or non-traditional) view of the Scriptures"
"As with all uncertain issues, the Christian would do well to compare each claim of those in the Progressive Christianity movement with Scripture, asking God for the wisdom to discern truth from error. He has promised wisdom to all who seek it (James 1:5)."

Disney Looks to Narrow Federal Lawsuit Against DeSantis to First Amendment claims

Lawyers for Disney are attempting to narrow the lawsuit against Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and the board of the district encompassing the Walt Disney World Resort to alleged free speech violations.

Disney, in a filing on Friday, attempted to withdraw its first four claims against DeSantis and other state officials, which would leave the fifth claim. The fifth claim in the complaint alleges the defendants infringed on the company's free speech rights by allegedly retaliating for comments Disney made against the Florida Parental Rights in Education law in 2022.

Disney+ Slashes Price of its Basic Subscription Service To $1.99 from $7.99 in bid to attract back more than 11 Million subscribers who ditched it in latest quarter

  • The move came amid ongoing struggle with Charter Communications
Disney+ has cut the price of its basic subscription service to $1.99 from $7.99 in an effort to lure back more than 11 million subscribers worldwide who left the platform in the last quarter.

The move came as its channels remain blacked out during an ongoing struggle over a distribution deal with cable provider Charter Communications.

The $6 price reduction for monthly subscriptions applies to the advertising-based tier of Disney+. The promotion, which is only available until September 20, charges the lower price for only three months before customers are switched back over to the previous rate.

Man you need to take a moment and reflect on where you get your news. Or at least look into it some

  • Disney last week had asked to drop its other claims in the case because they are being actively pursued in a separate state-level lawsuit in Florida.
Yeah, ok. Nobody reports everything accurate to everyone's liking.

Take 4 seconds and look into it. You regurgitate more false hoods then anyone in here. Stop.

If it's called “ Proud Elephant” it's just publicly stating it knows how to manipulate you. And here you are are.

Disney 'is in talks' to Sell ABC Network and Its Local TV stations to Broadcaster Nextstar, which owns NewsNation

Disney has held exploratory talks about selling ABC Network and regional TV stations to Nexstar Media Group, the local station operator that owns NewsNation, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

Two sources confirmed the talks to Reuters, with one saying that Nexstar's interest is preliminary and may not lead to any deal.

Disney's ABC comprises a national television network and eight regional stations. It also has affiliation agreements with about 240 local television stations reaching almost all US television households.

Nexstar has 200 owned or partner stations in 116 markets reaching over two-thirds of the U.S. population, as well as national TV networks such as CW and NewsNation. It has a market value of $5.25 billion.

Bloomberg News, which first reported the two companies were in talks about a deal for ABC, said that media mogul Byron Allen, who owns a string of TV outlets, has also had discussions with Disney

Media mogul Byron Allen offers $10 billion for Disney's ABC network and cable channels - as staffers 'freak out' over boss Bob Iger's 'cold-blooded and unsentimental' plans

Media mogul Byron Allen has made a $10 billion bid to buy Disney's ABC television network and cable channels, including the FX and National Geographic cable channels, a spokesperson for Allen confirmed on Friday.

It follows reports that Disney has also held exploratory discussions about selling ABC to regional TV station operator Nexstar Media, which owns cable news network NewsNation.

The news sent ABC News staffers into a panic, with one telling CNN: 'Everyone is freaking the f*** out.'

It's all about Disney as a case study, but it's interesting as a commentary on the industry as a whole. At the beginning of the pod he cites a statistic about the top few production companies combining for $23B in profit 10 years ago and last year they collectively broke even.

Nolte: Disney’s ‘The Marvels’ Is Doomed According to Box Office Projections

1697235819003.png

The Marvels is shaping up to be the Disney Grooming Syndicate’s latest in a long line of box office flops, according to Box Office Pro.

Based on a whole lot of factors, Box Office Pro predicts The Marvels will open between $50-$75 million domestic and ultimately gross just $121 to $189 million.

How bad is that? That’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer bad. That’s Black Adam bad. That’s Eternals bad.

That sucker cost $275 to produce, which doesn’t include promotion costs.

South Park is hailed for Mocking Disney over entertainment giant's incessant woke pandering that has been blamed for multiple box office flops

The animated show South Park has been hailed for slamming Disney and Star Wars' incessant woke pandering in their latest special.

'Joining the Panderverse', which aired on Paramount+ Friday, lobbed satirical grenades at the Hollywood film studios over their politically-correct casting.

Eric Cartman, who is a white child in the show, gets replaced by a black woman - sparking fury among his friends Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, and Kenny McCormick.

But when they question their school principal about the change, he tells them: 'If you boys don't think Eric can be a black woman then maybe the problem is you.'

Disney is delaying the release of its live-action Snow White movie by a year for a major overhaul, after star Rachel Zegler sparked anger with a tirade of woke fury.

Walt Disney announced the delay on Friday. The firm cited the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike as the major reason behind the decision - but cynics point to upcoming reshoots as proof Disney bosses fear they've made a $330 million turkey.
Over the summer, the film received negative attention after it was revealed by DailyMail.com that the Seven Dwarfs- iconic roles in the original film - were to be replaced by seven 'magical (non-dwarf) creatures' in an effort to keep the storytelling in line with the 21st Century's commitment to political correctness.

They were seen on the set of the movie and included a mix of men and women of different ethnicities, with a real dwarf among their number. At first Disney denied these pictures were from the set of the movie - but eventually backtracked.

But in a new publicity shot, Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, is seated and surrounded by seven CGI dwarfs, with the diverse originals nowhere to be seen.
