Disney +

Tried to watch the first episode of Star Wars: The Acolyte tonight. I suspected this show would be ultra woke and...I was right! Screw Disney! I'm out!

Bearded female trans jedi with "it" pronoun in the very first episode! Plus the show is overwhelmingly female dominant. Even almost all the aliens are female. So damn annoying!

It was woke. I don't know how anyone can't see that. There definitely was an agenda here.

I still thought it wasn't that bad.

I do! I'm sick of seeing these ****ing weirdos in mainstream media! They make up less than 1% of our population but the damn woke company's like Disney want to make it seem like they're 1 in every 3 people! I'm sick and tired of the overrepresentation of the fringe in movies/tv shows.

You're going to have to adapt or stop watching because it's not going away

I think in Star Wars land they make up like 27% of the population, though. Much more likely to see them there.

worry about yourself man. spending time judging others is wasteful. do as you must, i'm just saying if it bothers you that much. Turn the damn TV off.

The social commentary is old, no one cares man. It really says more about you than anyone else. And guess what? It isnt 1961 anymore, the over representation may not be an over representation anymore. The world isnt just while and male anymore.

Idk who's more annoying the "woke people" or the "anti-woke" people.

This show has some of the worst acting that I've seen with an unoriginal storyline. The fact it is totally geared to POC homosexuals won't help it since the core fan base isn't that. I'm sure it will resonate with the type of folks who have to bring a parent to a job interview to help them, but not with any long time Star Wars fans. I noticed the only White males in the show, at least the 1 episode I watched, were prisoners on a ship. Subtle..

Not watching is the simplest solution and then we can all read online about another agenda driven show bites the dust because the straight folks didnt watch it (how dare they!).

Fun fact, the green Andre the Giant Yoda lesbian Jedi thing was Harvey Weinstein's assistant...

One thing I have to correct myself on...

The Jedi who killed himself was not trans. He was played by actor Dean-Charles Chapman who is most known for playing Tommen Baratheon in Game of Thrones. I was totally fooled by the bad makeup job and the fact the other jedi refers to him with a stupid non-binary pronoun (it). So my bad on that.

Oh, and here's another brilliant tidbit the alphabet mafia just HAD to squeeze into this trash of a show...

The twin Jedi Osha and Mae have two moms.

On the floating Jedi..I assumed it was a female with a horrendous makeup job. Reminded me of one of the Jackass movies where they dressed a guy up as a terrorist and glued pubes to his face for the beard. The show isn't geared towards me, so I wont continue to watch it. Pretty simple.

I don't understand replies like this. I never said anything about there not being enough "white males" on this show. I said absolutely nothing about race whatsoever. Make the entire cast alien for all I care. However what this show represents is a horrible trend in Hollywood to prioritize a particular ideology ahead of good story telling. And yes, plenty of people DO care! You are dead wrong on that! Why do you think all of these newer Disney movies/TV shows are tanking?? It's because they are telling stories that are ostracizing the very audience that make up the majority of ticket buyers and subscribers. And yes I followed your brilliant advice and "turned the damn TV off". I will not support this trash! If you don't like my opinions you are welcome to follow your own advice and block me. But I have every right to say it nonetheless!

Why does this stuff bother you all that much?

Get outside of your house more than once a decade. Look around, talk to people, get to know their story. You may find that folks arent that different than you and me. Exact a little something called empathy.!

People should be able to love another person. Humans are meant to be happy. Are we meant to exact judgement? Who cares? Choose joy.

Yes, I live in a basement and never go outside and touch grass. Lol! I love how people assume that anyone who speaks up about any of this somehow lacks exposure to the "real world".

Both you and Jackcrevol are right.

It's clear Disney is pushing their agenda here. Probably more than any movie or series before. You and FLVOL pointed out things i didn't catch on initially watching

But it's going to be here in every Marvel/Disney project moving forward. You have to just accept it or stop watching.

I grew up on Star Wars and Marvel/DC. I was a huge comic reader/collector . I've watched and read it all for the most part. I can't just stop. I don't want to. You just have to roll with the cringe moments 😆

It doesn't bother me. The "with us or against us" mentality is some straight up Orwellian dystopian thinking when it comes to pop culture.

Spoiler alert, human interests vary widely. Not everyone is going to like your brand. In the context of The Acolyte, it looks like you have two types of "being bothered". One group is disappointed in another lackluster spinoff of a beloved franchise. The other group is disappointed that those folks can't see past the bad show and be accepting of all the progressive stereotyping that is in the show. Cramming a show full of left wing progressive stereotypes typically is the pre-planned scapegoat for failure whether you realize it not. The bi-polar emotional rollercoaster that this stuff is must be a hell of a ride for some of yall.

100% chance the bad guy in the movie is a straight White dude. And I'm ok with that.

I was never into comic books but I gave up on the Marvel/DC stuff when I tried to watch the last Captain Marvel movie. I couldn't get through it even though I think Brie Larson is smoking hot. That alone is generally enough to get me to pull through some terrible media.

Anytime something is over-represented it loses its "luster". Flood the markets with Star Wars and super hero movies and folks start looking for something else after a while (myself included). If Disney makes a Star Wars series with lipstick lesbian Jedi and Sith who use the force to tear each others clothes off then they keep falling into vats of baby oil and have to slip and slide over each other to escape, I'd watch it.
Toss is some force dwarf tossing and you might have the greatest Star Wars show ever created.

Anywho..I'm ready for Andor Season 2.

That was a bad movie. I still think the last Thor movie was worse. Two movies I'll never watch again
