Disney +

Both you and Jackcrevol are right.

It's clear Disney is pushing their agenda here. Probably more than any movie or series before. You and FLVOL pointed out things i didn't catch on initially watching

But it's going to be here in every Marvel/Disney project moving forward. You have to just accept it or stop watching.

I grew up on Star Wars and Marvel/DC. I was a huge comic reader/collector . I've watched and read it all for the most part. I can't just stop. I don't want to. You just have to roll with the cringe moments 😆

Yes, you're right and I have to take it on a case by case/show by show basis as to what I am willing to tolerate. I just get pissed when people assume that when people like me voice my displeasure about a show, it HAS to be coming from some backwoods ignorant, bigoted place. No, that's not it at ALL. It comes from a place of frustration that an entertainment medium that I love is being rotted by a group of ideologues that have made a concerted effort to prioritize a message over story telling. And yes, quality IS suffering due to this!

A good example of a newer show that I'm actually enjoying is Fallout. The cast of characters in this show is as diverse as anything else being shown these days. However the show is damn good! You can tell the show creators cared about the writing! There's a difference when diversity happens as a natural byproduct of casting the right people in roles, and when it's a "DEI" motivated priority ahead of everything else! When you've watched movies and TV shows for as long as I have, you can see that **** a mile away!

That was a bad movie. I still think the last Thor movie was worse. Two movies I'll never watch again
The Captain Marvel thing killed my interest in superhero flicks. I liked the 2 Guardians of the Galaxy movies, I know there is a 3rd, but I just can't pull the trigger.

Same goes for Zombie flicks. I loved them growing up as a kid. 28 Days Later was pretty awesome, then along comes The Walking Dead, first few seasons are good then it was just zombie oversaturation and I dont want to see any of those types of movies again.

Did you like World War Z? I think most people are split on it, but I liked it.

It was alright. I never read the book so I wasn't a huge fanboy preparing for the inevitable disappointment that a movie adaption of a book brings.

More my speed is Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead (all of them + the great series), Dead Alive, Anything George Romero, and any Fulci film.

I think Train to Busan is the most recent zombie movie I've watched, and that was pretty good. In fact, most Korean shows in general that I have seen have been pretty damn good.

You're really missing out on Guardians 3. It and No Way Home are the two good/great MCU movies after Endgame.

Just caught up on The Acolyte

Fail to see the “woke agenda”. Has a fairly interesting plot oitside the normal Skywalker era.

I’m just so over “true fans” who hated the prequels, didn’t even give Clone Wars a shot, and hold up a bunch of not-so-great novels that Lucas had little to no input with as some sort of Tolkien-esque outline to Star Wars.

I don’t love the Sequel Trilogy but I do love Rebels, Rogue One, Mando, CS7, Bad Batch, Andor, and Ahsoka.

3 episodes into the Acolyte and I find it more engaging than Boba Fett and Obiwan despite being completely new characters.

Point being, Disney has put out more good SW material than bad. People can like or not like whatever they want. I prefer case by case discussion about story, pacing, acting, etc over the blanket “Disney sucks” and crying about too much diversity in the cast.

The Korean Jedi dudes English acting is so bad it distracted me from almost everything else. I thought the guy was good in Squid Games though. The last 3 episodes of Boba Fett were some of the best Star Wars ever in my opinion. Andor was slow but very good. Ahsoka wasn't too bad either. The rest of it was pretty meh though I felt. The prequels are still terrible though :)

Cover her ears when they call the hamster “they”. Don’t want her to be indoctrinated.
This is crazy. Star Wars is spreading ideas of pronoun usage. Getting girls into science fiction... the very idea!!

Btw about to head to Church, need an AR15 ?

The Acolyte had a pretty satisfying ending over all. The show had its weaknesses for sure. There were parts I laughed out loud about (Wookie with a metal detector😂).

The things it brought in from the EU/Legends and ground work it laid for the fall of the Jedi in the prequels was pretty noteworthy. I don’t really care much about Mae and Osha going forward but I wouldn’t mind following Qimir and *that cloaked dude in the shadows.

It had two incredible saber battles too.

I'll agree about most of this. I don't really mind the Osha/Mae stuff, it was a little "too predictable ", but overall all they did well. I'm seriously interested in what's going on with the dude in the shadows. The saber battles were great. It's more of what I had pictured in my head of force user battles. Not all the crazy acrobatics, but the way they used force skills to compliment the Sabre skill. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to future seasons.
