Disrespect. Respect Earned. Motivation. We should be in Knoxville.

Probably does. Conference champions have to get something or they become worthless. Arizona State is a perfect example. Didn't start the season ranked, had an unbelievable year (were picked dead last) and won the conference, if you went by ranking, they would he out.
They can still give them an automatic berth. I just wish they’d get rid of the automatic bye or at least re-seed after the 1st round. No way Oregon should be ranked #1 but get arguably the 3rd best matchup in the 2nd round.

WHEN WHEN Are you going to figure this out..............it ABSOLUTELY has nothing to do with Logic.
YOUR beloved College Football is NOW and forever more Minor League NFL. Decisions will be made based on revenue and eyes on the TV. It has nothing to do with fan base, ADs, Coaches................it IS Revenue. $$$$$$
The NIL money is just the tip of the Ice Berg......it is a Mess and it’s over for the Game we once loved.
Boy, are you lost!

I don’t think you understand what a minor league is. Minor leagues don’t compete for revenue with the major leagues. They’re divided by regions so that they don’t compete for fans.

The NBA G League is a minor league. NCAA basketball is competition to the NBA. They may have an agreement to not compete for talent to an extent, but they are very much competing for ratings.

Vols played 2 teams in the top 11 and went 1-1, winning at home and losing on the road. They also lost to a 6-6 team on the road.
tOSU played 3 teams in the top 11 and went 2-1, winning 1 at home and 1 on the road and losing 1 on the road. They also lost to a 7-5 team at home.
Vols lost their 2 games by 19 points to teams that were a combined 17-8.
tOSU lost their 2 games by 4 points to teams that were a combined 20-5.

Looking at resumes, tOSU deserved the home game over the Vols. Would be different if we beat Arkansas or lost to UGA on a last sec FG.
They lost there last game to match are record. Indiana should not be in the playoffs.

I just can't understand who "they" are who rig everything against us nor why we matter so much to "them." The importance we'd need to have such that the refs/SEC/NCAA all want us to fail vs every other team is not believable.

I like our chances. I love we're in the playoffs and playing major non-SEC brands, Ohio State and Oregon and hopefully beyond, because it gives us more nationwide recognition and helps in getting the attention of recruits and transfers.

It's been a good football year, for sure, but it's been a pretty blessed year for my family also. I know which of those is most important.

I agree on the refs (I don't see how refs are against us), but the lack of Heismans for our program is proof enough that media is against us.

I believe this should be the final year for Manuel on the committee. The next Chair needs to have an SEC tie. Or no direct ties to any of the leagues outside of perhaps a degree. It’s a complete conflict of interest to have a sitting AD serve as chair of that committee.

Notice how Texas didn’t even get SMU. They got the ACC champion.

Indiana doesn’t have to play an SEC team at an SEC venue. Penn St and Ohio State both got home games with Penn getting arguably the easiest draw of all. Big Ten with those weak ass schedules got four to SEC’s three plus all the aforementioned perks.

The shaft job given to the SEC by a sitting Big 10 AD should never happen again. I’m still legitimately livid about all this. I would have no problem if the Big 10 teams earned what they got but as weak as the lower 3/4 of that league was they didn’t. Weakest I’ve ever seen the Big 10 and they got four teams - at least three of which got favorable treatment - if not all four. That’s absurd.

I've been saying the same exact things about the Little 10 for weeks now. Those four teams that got in are the only decent teams in the entire conference, and two of them just beat up on the bottom of that pathetic conference. Penn State played two tough games and were soundly beaten in both, Indiana was embarrassed at OSU.

I disagree with one thing you said - there shouldn't be a next chair. The whole "committee" thing has been proven to be a disaster, despite the national media doing their best to carry the water for them, mostly because they hate and resent the SEC dominance over the last couple of decades and see this as their comeuppance.

The fault of this whole mess should be dumped in the lap of Sankey for selling his soul and selling us out to go in business with the Big 10 and ESPN. He took the money, and now our conference gets to beat each others' brains out all season and be compared to pretenders playing creampuff conference schedules and going 11-1. You reap what you sow.

I don't have an issue with conference champs getting bids, but the byes are ridiculous. Until they expand to 16 and can do away with byes altogether, teams should be ranked, with the top four getting the byes, regardless of whether or not they are conference champs. If a conference champ is lower than #12, they get in at #12 and that team gets bumped.

If you look at the bracket off the rankings without the silly auto bid byes for the "top 4 conference champs", it is a far better bracket. Here are the final CFP rankings:

1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Penn State

5. Notre Dame
6. Ohio State
7. Tennessee
8. Indiana
9. Boise State
10. SMU
11. Alabama
12. Arizona State
16. Clemson

So Clemson gets in at #12, bumping ASU to #11 and eliminating Alabama. The bracket has the top four bolded teams getting the byes, and the matchups, which happen organically instead of the manipulated garbage done by the "committee", are much fairer, with the higher seeds getting the 'easier' first games, and Oregon not getting penalized the way they were.

This would be a far more equitable way of setting this thing up and would build to better games as it went on instead of having two teams getting byes likely to get smoked in the second round. I don't believe there should be a "committee" of bureaucrats making these calls, but at least this way it's a more legitimate event.

I did, the played the same number of teams we did that finished .500 or above. Their SOR was higher than ours. Face it, we played mostly the bottom half of the SEC this year, they have 1 less loss.
The bottom half of the SEC would be in the middle of the pack if not right behind the 3 world beaters in Oregon, pedo state, and the buckdungs.
Indiana would not of even finish 500 in the sec and probably finish somewhere between Auburn or Arkansas. Florida beat ole
Miss, Arkansas beat UT, and Oklahoma trounced bama. Can the big 10 say that about their lower half of the conference.

That is a pretty broad brush you are painting with. No way of knowing how Indiana would do against Vandy without them playing. To say they would not finish .500 in the SEC. What schedule are they playing? Ours? Floridas? We played 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the SEC.
Nebraska vs Kentucky??? Who knows. A huge pillow fight with Miss St and Purdue.

I get the SEC is a tougher conference but everyone said it would take Texas some time to adjust, so much for that thought

Why would we not be in next year we will only lose the offensive line every other position has depth I’m excited for Mike Matthews and Nico to gain more experience
Because we suck on the road. This year was our chance and we lost to Arkansas. Florida is our nemesis, and Bama?? We should feel good to beat both of them at home every other year. It doesn't matter how good we are and how bad they are, we just don't show up and then there's the officiating issue.

Sorry you dont get it.
I ve been lost most of my life................................Call it what ya want..............it is NOT College Football. It is ALL about the money. For the Players, for the Universities, etc. And it will never be about College Football as we knew it. How many of the various Bowl Teams will have high pick potential go to the lesser Bowls. NFL, Scouts, Agents etc. assisting in that decision process to stay home. Just one Mans opinion. Oh and price the Columbus Tickets!!

Just to be clear, we are sharing theories.

My Theory:

The TV broadcasting companies are as much to blame for the screwiness of college football as anything else.
My concern is that TV broadcasters have been able to dictate their desires over revenue. As a result of competing broadcasting rights, we now have manipulation from people who don’t care who wins or loses, as long as it creates drama, because controversy seeks attention. Viewer numbers increase the revenue from ad sales. The last thing Disney wants is for a system that makes sense and seems fair. That’s going to bore people to death who don’t care to understand the rules of the sport.
ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS have ruined the NBA, NFL, NASCAR and MLB. College football and college basketball are just the next goal in trying to monopolize entertainment. They have to convert sport to entertainment first. Once that distinction is obtained, the producers can pressure the leagues to do whatever they want with it, like WWE.

Paying the players seems more like a side show in the grand scheme of things.
