Vols played 2 teams in the top 11 and went 1-1, winning at home and losing on the road. They also lost to a 6-6 team on the road.We should be hosting a game in Knoxville against Ohio State. We got absolutely disrespected. This should motivate Tennessee to crush Ohio state. If I’m Heupel I’m making it known to the team the disrespect our university received. And it’s time to make them pay for that disrespect, don’t even make this game close. Just beat the ever loving **** out of this team. Hit them hard, make them feel it. Make them feel the disrespect.
Hate them or not, we owe it to our rivals to whip anyone the committee sends our way. Nick Saban didn’t get embarrassed by the Big 10 when we were down and that was one of the few things we didn’t have to be ashamed of.I had 3 bama fans come up to me in a Birmingham restaurant last night and tell me we got screwed not having at it Neyland. They all said they hope beat the hell out of Ohio state
If we’re just going by where teams were when we played, TN went 3-1 against ranked teams. Ohio State went 2-1. If we are going by where the opponents are now, ESPN keeps a running list:Vols played 2 teams in the top 11 and went 1-1, winning at home and losing on the road. They also lost to a 6-6 team on the road.
tOSU played 3 teams in the top 11 and went 2-1, winning 1 at home and 1 on the road and losing 1 on the road. They also lost to a 7-5 team at home.
Vols lost their 2 games by 19 points to teams that were a combined 17-8.
tOSU lost their 2 games by 4 points to teams that were a combined 20-5.
Looking at resumes, tOSU deserved the home game over the Vols. Would be different if we beat Arkansas or lost to UGA on a last sec FG.
Which committee rules are different this year? Please show me. Why is comparing playoffs from this year to last year absurd, in your mind? Is this not the same sport and the same participating organizations? I cannot see any difference besides format.
How can you convince anyone TN would be out by comparing our results to teams ranked in the final poll? TN is one of 4 playoff teams who have bested another team ranked inside of the top 12. The Vols have a top 5 defense in both points allowed and yards allowed. What is an “eye test” in your mind? I need some explanation for that loose theory.
Clemson lost to South Carolina and Georgia before beating SMU at neutral site. Alabama beat both South Carolina and Georgia. The best comparison that anyone has to use between SMU and Alabama is 100% in favor of Alabama.
-Why was SMU dropped, yet just enough to stay ahead of Alabama?
-Why was Alabama ahead of Tennessee when they had lost to TN and they were each 2 loss teams?
- Why is Ohio State behind Penn State when Ohio State beat Penn State and they each have 2 losses?
- Why was Ohio State left ahead of Tennessee when Tennessee now has the higher Strength of Record and Strength of Schedule?
- Why is Texas ahead of Ohio State and Tennessee when they have zero wins against ranked teams? All three have two losses.
- How did Notre Dame prove that they belong among the top 12 when their best victory was against the 22nd ranked team?
None of this follows logic.
Bold? OK, sure.. The committee doesn’t have to be careful with their reasons, but I have to be careful with my condemnation of them.. I have no reason for holding reserve when speaking about a committee led by an AD who attempted to retain the head coach who was the center of the biggest College Football cheating scandal to date in this century. You defending this charade is the only stretch of imagination from where I sit.
Cycles. Same things were being said about us not beating Florida on the road when the end of the season rolled around in December of 2001, and then won again in Gainesville in 2003. We actually were better against the good teams on the road in that 2001-2004 stretchYes, I know. But it's been a long time
Agree with the conclusion more than the argument. Not necessarily an apples to apples argument. I don't think IU has the kind of season they had playing in the SEC or even if they had played the better Big 10 teams.Vols played 2 teams in the top 11 and went 1-1, winning at home and losing on the road. They also lost to a 6-6 team on the road.

Let's see those stats. 3 of 4 teams had the same record against .500 teams. OSU had more wins against the teams in the final poll. PSU & UT had the same record. OSU & PSU started the season ranked higher, meaning we had more ground to make up. SOS & SOR are virtually the same.Because they valued 2 teams with a weaker schedule than ours due to brand
Indiana is really a team that has no business being in the playoffs and no one is talking about it. "They're 11-1" was Heather's BS reasoningAgree with the conclusion more than the argument. Not necessarily an apples to apples argument. I don't think IU has the kind of season they had playing in the SEC or even if they had played the better Big 10 teams.
A fluke of scheduling made Michigan IU's best conference win. They did not play PSU, Oregon, Illinois, Iowa, or even a talented team like USC. Their best conference win was over a struggling Michigan team.
PSU was a good win for OSU. I'm not convinced beating IU was that big of a deal.
I've already seen comments complaining about the officials for our game in Columbus.
The "they're all out to get me" people border on Captain Queeg around here, already trying to create a narrative that the SEC always hates us, the CFP hates us, the refs all hate us...... and there's a massive conspiracy all over the world of football to keep Tennessee down.
It's actually the worst kind of narcissism.
