I am just so thankful DK chose Tennessee. He literally is “the guy” we have not had that can make his own shot even when the other team knows he is going to shoot it. Without him, tonight is a game we lose by 15. Instead, we won, so enjoyable to see as a Vol fan.And I don’t think it’s even close. No disrespect to Houston, Lofton, or G-will. Dalton Knecht is head and shoulders above them.
He was an awesome offensive player. One of the best shooters to ever come thru Knoxville. He was a taller version of Chris Lofton. Just phenomenal shooters who weren't super great athletes, but could score at all three levels because you had to respect their perimeter game so much. They got a lot of lanes to drive because of it. They just weren't explosive athletes. That is the advantage DK has over them. Houston's height (nearly identical builds), but just so explosive and able to create so much at the rim.I meant to mention that I never saw Houston play. I certainly wish I had.
You’re right it’s not close. Sorry but DK isn’t even close. Only one season does not make you the best player ever at any program. Same reason guys like Tobias, Chandler, Keon, can’t be on the list. One of, if not the best, seasons in school history for sure but not best player in Vols last 40years. Just not enough at bats.
Ive always hated that his talent was wasted here. If Wade stayed at UofL and Houston ended up there, I’m confident they’d have won at least 1 title in his time there. That was already a great era of UofL basketball. He was an awesome offensive player. One of the best shooters to ever come thru Knoxville. He was a taller version of Chris Lofton. That’s absurd. You’re right it’s not close. Sorry but DK isn’t even close. Only one season does not make you the best player ever at any program. Guess everybody forgot Bernard.Or Yarbrough or Lofton or Grant
I mean can you imagine Lofton playing with the depth on Vols team they have now?!? Dane played the 4 at times and most of talent around him was young! Plus the way the game is played today Chris would’ve average 25-30 points a game.
I can’t imagine how good Yarbrough would’ve been with a Coach Barnes on the bench instead of J. Green who was notorious for just letting team do what they wanted.
Sorry it’s just not true. I’d take Ellis, Houston, Lofton, and Yarbrough over him for sure and maybe even White, Grant, & T.Smith. DK is in the conversation tho for sureYes he is. Best talent we’ve had since King. Best player just has to be the best player. It’s not best career. It’s best player period.
Wanna bet on that? He’s a top 10 pick. If he were 18-19, he’d be a top 2-3 pick. He’s not going to be a lottery pick. He’s going to likely be top 20. Why are we making outrageous statements? Knecht is incredible and we should appreciate it and enjoy it.
Michael Brooks not bad either, but couldn’t take advantage of the 3 point line. Damn sure acknowledge that DK is special and does not come along often if everYou’re right it’s not close. And you’d lose. Taking Yarbrough and maybe Tyler over DK is the goofiest thing I’ve seen posted here in a while. The only acceptable argument is Houston. Their games are similar, but DK is the better athlete.Sorry it’s just not true. I’d take Ellis, Houston, Lofton, and Yarbrough over him for sure and maybe even White, Grant, & T.Smith. Houston stat padded on bad teams for 4 seasons. Great player, but realistically nowhere near some of the SEC greats he might have better numbers than.I don’t know if he’s head and shoulders above Houston. Houston played on horrific teams, but he was phenomenal.Inly 1 SEC player has more career points than Houston. That is Pistol Pete. Is the that people feel they have to do stuff like this and make lists . Knecht is great. Saying he’s head and shoulders above Houston is absurd.
You’re right… it’s absurd how right I am. Don’t get me wrong, I find what he’s capable of amazing but he needs to improve on other aspects of the game and have more time as a Vol to be the most complete player tag. I just want to enjoy this team as long as we can. Who cares where he falls at historicallyThat’s absurd.
Some mocks have him 5th. He just went in dry in one of the best defenses in basketball. he’s a lottery pick barring something awful happening.I meant top 20, my bad. I think he probably will. I think saying he will definitely be a lottery pick is outrageous. Some mocks have him going as low as 28. I think he could sneak into top 15 but I’d expect 17 or so, which is outstanding. I don’t get why that Kansas dude is projected above Knecht.
Look up definition of complete player. Then look up numbers Lofton, Ellis, and Yarbrough put up for 4 yearsAnd you’d lose. Taking Yarbrough and maybe Tyler over DK is the goofiest thing I’ve seen posted here in a while. The only acceptable argument is Houston. Their games are similar, but DK is the better athlete.
I guess it depends on who you’re talking about. Houston could have been the best player on almost any team he went to. “Stat padded” is an interesting way to out it since he was almost always the junky threat an opposing team had to worry about. It’s not like he was out there scoring on chumps with the benefit of teammates that an opposing defense had to focus on.Houston stat padded on bad teams for 4 seasons. Great player, but realistically nowhere near some of the SEC greats he might have better numbers then.
Why would you challenge me to bet and then warn me not to bet? You could have won my money had you not earned me not to bet.Wanna bet on that? He’s a top 10 pick. If he were 18-19, he’d be a top 2-3 pick.
I’ll warn you not to bet against this. I have a couple friends that are nba scouts. They’re saying he’s a shoo-in lottery pick.
