Do we need Florida or Candy to win tonight?

Interesting to note that Arkansas is now only two spots ahead of us at 91 in RPI. Anyone know what they were at prior to the conclusion of this game?

Don't know about right st the end of the game but they started the day at 79

So as I said Florida wouldn't fall much, and it benefits us more because now Vanderbilt has a higher rpi.

I agree with the first part. Not sure I follow on the second part. Any gain from Vandy moving up is probably offset by Florida moving down.

A 4 way tie at 10-6 will give UT the 2nd seed. Because of the tie breaker rules for a four way tie.

UT would have the most wins against the other 3 (Bama,Vandy,UF) so they would be the 2nd seed.

Not quite. They would get the 2 seed but it's not as easy as the way you stated it.

So because Vandy won they clinched a spot at 10-5 in SEC play. Florida lost making them also 10-5 in SEC play. Now Florida plays Kentucky and which will most likely result in a lost for Florida ending them at 10-6. We now sit at 8-6 and if we win out we would be 10-6 over Florida because of our two wins against them. The trick is that Alabama is also 8-6 right now and will most likely win their two remaining games against Auburn and Ole Miss making them 10-6 as well. So with us Florida, Alabama, and Vandy all at 10-6 Vandy will be the 2 seed with Alabama behind them at 3, then us at the four seed, leaving Florida with a 5 seed and no first round bye. Correct me if I am wrong but I'm pretty sure this is correct.

Nope it's wrong...

4 way tie all at 10-6
Florida
Vandy
Tennessee
Bama

Tiebreaker ONE is head to head for each team...

Tennessee 3-2
Vandy 3-2
Florida 2-3
Bama 1-2

So now it's vandy and Tennessee tied, the breaker between them goes record vs top seed in sec which is uk, both are 0-2. Next is us or vandy, you skip that. Next is Florida Tennessee is 2-0 and vandy is 1-1, therefore it goes....

#2 Tennessee
#3 Vanderbilt
#4 Florida
#5 bama

I'm not disagreeing how that works...but is that way FAIR? Alabama didnt play all those teams twice.

If they won their games they wouldn't have to worry about it. You can look at it the other way, they only had to play 3 games against those teams while very one else had to play 4.

Also, bama benefits from playing all the "west" teams twice, who are significantly weaker than the east. They lost to south Carolina, we had to play UK, Vandy and florida twice, I have no sympathy.
