i am a descendant of native americans as well, and i think that making english the official language is pointless. It is already required that someone who wishes to become naturalized know English, what more do you need? Should we kick the French speakers out of Louisiana, and the Hawaiian speakers out of Hawaii?
I don't say that. I say make it the offical language for things done by government. I don't care to force anyone to learn anything.
Funny you should say that because you were defending a bill that would naturalize 12-20 million or more people that don't want to learn English in the first place and don't want to assimilate. So that's not a valid statement with respect to the rest of the post.
i think CSpin already touched on that, the bill would not have changed the fact that they still would have had to learn english to naturalize, in fact english would have become an official language.
and i supported amnesty, not the bill as a whole. i dunno where you got that.
Exactly. No reason I should have to press a number when calling from within the United States to get the language 94% of ALL American's speak "well" or "very well". Other than that, its up to the business. Although if a business chooses to not do business in any other language but English then people shouldn't be able to chastise them for being "politically incorrect".
