I have no idea what I could do now but once went 45:92 in the 100 freestyle (yards) that would have been around 1986.I swim. It’s better for my back, which currently has 3 herniated discs.
Yesterday, I swam 2400 yards.
400 warm-up
2x100 freestyle on 1:45
4x75 choice stroke on 1:30
4x50 free on 1:00
8x25 choice on :40
4x100 kick w/ fins on 1:45
1x100 breaststroke kick, no fins
6x50 pull w/ paddles free on 1:00
2x50 pull backstroke on 1:05
200 easy cooldown

I’ve considered a swim spaw as I get older if running ever becomes a problem.
Back in the day we had a motto among the sprinters.
“When the going gets tough, the sprinters have finished”
Or
“When the going gets tough the sprinters get out”
