Do you take Gruden at $50m over 10 years?

Mob mentality is amazing. Yesterday, Gruden was a pipe dream, a fantasy. Then a thread pops up saying he's ready to to sign a ten year contract for the kind of salary the top coaches get, and now everyone is like, "well, we should see if he'll take less" or "we should talk to another guy and see how much his price would be" or "hey we should make him work for incentives". Really VolNation? Really? If he's the best candidate out there, then you have to be ready to pay him like it. And stop trying to overthink it. Be happy you got your guy. (note: all of this is for the sake of argument, I don't actually believe that Gruden has said he would take the job or that he will ever do so).

Whomever is trying to make a case for Petrino needs to remember one thing: HE QUIT THE ATLANTA FALCONS WITH A FRIGGEN LETTER! he was not even MAN enough to face the players. What exactly has he done in the SEC? How many titles has he won? He has broke up more marriages(2) than he has won western division titles! Pay Gruden and take the risk, but do not even think about ruining the integrity that is UT, that is all we have eft ATM.

Seriously?? You were complaining in another thread they have never showed they are willing to pay to get a big name coach now you dont want them to?

40-45 million + for a Petersen/Patterson & staff hire over 5-6 years would also show they are willing to spend the cash for a quality coach. I just think Gruden at 90-100 million bucks is a huge, huge risk over 10 years. Don't get me wrong, I would support any of the 3. Just because you paid the man more, does not make him a better coach is all I'm saying.
