Do I want BHO to fail as POTUS? Yes.
don't altogether disagree. I want him to fail in almost every policy position he has set forth to date.

Guess failure is a broad term. I would like to see a robust economic recovery, but he would really have nothing to do with that. However, he would take significant credit for it.

i think it is highly likely we see a robust recovery by 2012 unless he really does something stupid. might be enough to get him reelected.

he'll also take credit for the tarp making money IMO

Obama's mission and intent is to turn this country into even more of a nanny-state than it already is. His vision is that the government will be the institution which solves everyone's problems. I sincerely hope he fails in his mission and his intent is never realized.

I understand this point and agree to some extent.

I just don't want him to make bad decisions in dealing with our friends and enemies abroad. Failure there could spell disaster for our nation.

If President-Elect Obama succeeds in implementing his policies the US and the world will be a far greater place. To suggest you want the president to fail is Unpatriotic and UnAmerican. No matter how dumb I thought Bush was and how bad I thought his views and policies were the only thing I wanted him to fail in were elections and implementing the invasions of privacy that the Bush-Cheney administration have impemented in the name of fighting terrorism.

Have you not seen any of the news reports of the millions of call from citizens with no terrorist ties been listened to and recorded? What about the ones were the overseas calls are being monitored from our troops and the nsa monitors were passing aroung the sex calls the troops were having with wives and girlfriends in the states? What about no search warrant home searches? Anybody they want to monitor the Bush adm. has made it possible to without probable cause or reason going around the law. There are plenty more use "The Google".

If they are spying on Americans with no cause it violates all Americans rights. I wouldn't know if my calls personnally were recorded its not like they say "don't mind me, I'll just be listening in the background. And the news reports are true; they have people who worked for the NSA as the sources some came forth because it was the right thing. The patriot act if you read it has alot of loopholes to spy on Americans at home and abroad. Before 911 Cheyney had already started on it planning to spy on Americans.

yeah, and Obama's civilian national security force will be primarily concerned with constructing sandbag levies and helping little old ladies cross the street.

i had my avatar before he was elected. my avatar is accurate to what his philosophy is. he has a marxist type of philosophy.

do i want him to fail? it depends on what his mission is. i want him to fail in raising taxes, funding abortions, taking guns away, appointing activists judges, appointing judges that believe in retribution and wealth redistribution. i want him to fail at creating the civilian defense force (Nazi SS). i want him to fail in passing the sensorship doctrine. i want him to fail in nationalizing healthcare. i want him to fail in appeasing our enemies. i want him to fail in forcing global warming on us and increasing regulations.

i want him to succeed in making our economy stronger but with his philosophy, i don't know how he can do that.

With that remark and error, I doubt you have read more than 2 pages of anything by Karl Marx or that you have studied him or his philosphy of economic theory in anything other than the most basic survey course, most of which you missed anyway.

I'm sorry I guess monitoring peoples internet usage, library book check out and phone calls is not an invasion of privacy if the administraion is doing it to "fight terrorism". If the Obama administration did this the right wing would say he was infringing on their civil liberties.

All BVP is asking is for real proof........ not talking points.

I guess it's somehow constitutional because you can't pretend that the slugs at the ACLU haven't tried at every turn to prove some individual interest and right to privacy that trumps national security.

so all the lefties who called bush "Hitler" "Nazi" "Fascist" were all properly read and had advanced degrees in history and political theory?

umm, no.

redistribution of wealth is Marxist
wealth as a public force is Marxist
progressive income tax is Marxist
control of the media is Marxist
heavy unionization of the workforce is Marxist
equality of outcomes is Marxist

I'm not saying that Obama is Karl Marx incarnate, but many of his policy positions have more to do with the "Communist Manifesto" than they do with the US Constitution. And, before you engage in semantics, I'm not defending the bailout, corporate welfare, or anything else.
