And I think ultimately that is his biggest problem. Yes I know he's a freshmen but so was Clausen when he started. So was Manning. So was Tyler Bray. ALL of them possessed poise even as freshmen. Dobbs looks like he is terrified to be on the field.

There's a reason why he is also only the 8th true freshman to start at QB. He's also only getting to start by default. Comparing him to Clausen, Bray, and especially Manning is daft.

Dobbs won't be starting next year, so it's going to come down to Worley or Ferguson. I suspect Peterman will leave and Dobbs may as well. He'd actually be better in a smaller program but not the SEC.

All true freshman show lack of poise at times, even Peyton.

Don't you guys agree this is the worst group (or least experienced) of wide receivers we've had? Any how about our pass protection last night? It left a lot to be desired IMO.

WRs are just as good as the QB getting them the ball. Dobbs makes Worley look like an All-American.

I disagree with the first part. Receivers have to be in the right position and get separation.

I do miss Worley though. Imagine that.

I said the same last night. This group looks like an FCS subdivision level talent. North is the only difference-maker. Josh Smith is unbelievably bad. Croom has done nothing to inspire confidence. Paul Harris can't even break through for playing time vs them, so that can't be a good sign. Jonathan Johnson? Pig is pretty good with the ball in his hands, but he has had some costly, costly bad plays.

Way too many drops as a group. TEs aren't any better.

So, they have magically just not been in position every game the past 4 weeks?

Wait, they were in position when Worley was starting?? 70% of our QB woes can be contributed to poor routes being ran, lack of protection, and a general cluster **** of an offensive gameplan.

he will never be as good as rick clausen ....how can u have 2 weeks to prepare and look as bad as he did ...his first throw of the game was so telegraphed everybody in the stadium knew where it was going ...we need to get rid of mike bajackoff and get a OC

Worst is subjective. I think inexperienced is more correct. But not only on the receivers, but on the QB as well.

Unfortunately, this game seemed to highlight that inexperience since they didn't get many touches at all. (and of course, a pass smacking someone in the face mask didn't help) Good receivers and a good QB are symbiotic. Both help each other's confidence and unfortunately, Dobbs wasn't helping the confidence of the receivers and people like Smith weren't helping his.

As for pass protection, the screens Vandy had been running all year could have and should have been countered by now. It's not like they had a stable full of receivers to throw to. And while that Matthews kid might have the SEC record for receptions, they should have put a man on him all night and forced Vandy to pick different receivers.

Or even CATCH the balls that are thrown to them. Drops are more deflating than an inaccurate pass to the ground or out of bounds imo.

You actually saw pass protection last night? I saw guys missing blocks all night last night. Sorry but "something is rotten in the state of Denmark." Sam Pittman did more with this same O-Line last year than Don Mahoney has done this year.

I know different schemes require a different style of blocking, but no scheme requires you to move slowly, miss your blocks, and watch a defensive lineman wrap up your running back or close the corners on your QB. Atrocious performance!

It was when they said North was out hurt..that I realized we were screwed in the passing game 100%.
