Dobbs/Peterman recruitment...

They went after Dobbs because of Trent Dilfer is friends with CBJ, he ask about Ferg and what he was getting. Trent mention Dobbs was smart player and could possibly be a good fit.

I don't think you can question coaching until they get a QB in house they recruited

when will this stop? they recruited dobbs and good coaches adapt system etc to the talent and then coach them up. i understand needing talent but people want to defend ut coaches like they are untouchable.

fact is if our qb play doesnt improve in yr 2 of this system then coaching has to be looked at. i think they will be better but if it doesnt it cant all be on the players...coaches will have to take some blame..

lame and fools both made bowls with less talent and no reason this staff should be expected to do any less. i

Dobbs is the most accurate qb on the roster. I don't know what y'all are talking about. He completed59.5% as a true freshman with no game below 57.9% vs all SEC teams and all ranked teams except UK. Worley's best game vs SEC teams was 55%. Some people just don't like Dobbs. They latched on to RF then Worley now Peterman. Just anyone butt Dobbs is who they want I guess. No matter game stats or how practice is going.

I just can't get past how awful he looked versus Mizzou. May I remind you that the passes called when Dobbs was QB were very short passes and hardly any passes 15 yards down the field. I remember a few nice deep passes by Worley. Thus, completion percents will be lower since Worley actually attempted passes past the line of scrimmage.
18.7 QBR versus Missou

There wasn't much left and Riley wasn't their guy.
Watching the QB drills the other day, Petermen has the best footwork and most mobile. Dobbs looks like a baby deer at times. His arm strength and accuracy are questionable.
Starting to question QB coaching. I see a lot of drills but I dont see much on the field correction or Instruction. Seems that the style they learned summer qb camp doesn't mesh.

So funny.

Was Dobbs ever recruited to Cincinnati?

I didn't see anything that he was, so why did CBJ go after him at TN?

Nathan Peterman was recruited by Cincinnati.

This is all I need.

Thanks.

1. Worley 1.5 Peterman 2. Dobbs

All this panic is silly. Bama is going thru the same thing, if it makes you feel better. As far as our qbs are concerned it will be Worley, Dobbs will play, and peterman will hold the clipboard and work on his coaching skills. Never want to see peterman again.

the hate is great!

the more Dobbs looks like our QB the greater the hate!

What videos are you watching?

Of the three, Dobbs is throwing it the worst. His habit of sailing it would turn into a bunch of turnovers in games.

I would love to see Peterman for two reasons. One, it would have meant that a great kid overcame difficult odds to become successful... and because you "never want to see" him again.

How exactly can you call yourself a Vol fan and not root for a kid like that who is investing so much of his life into the program?

I see what you're saying but... Worley beat a top 10 team , had us on the brink of beating UGA , and may have beaten Florida had he started . While Dobbs couldn't beat Vandy at home against a depleted secondary . IMO we were a much better team with Worley at the helm. Completion % is importmant but winning games is more important.

That being said , I don't care who our qb is . If Dobbs is the best that is fine with me , all I want to do this year is get to a bowl game and finish at least 7-6

Where are you coming up with the idea that Dobbs is gonna be the starting qb? From all the fall practice reports it seems like he is more than likely gonna be 3rd string.

Gotta wonder how he (and Worley) went from lighting it up in the spring game to the depths of suckitude. That was what, 3 months ago?

Dobbs first half stats vs. VU - 4/7 5 yds. 2 INT.
Peterman's first half stats @FL - 4/11 5 yds. 2 INT

For some reason Dobbs gets a pass but Peterman doesn't.

Peterman was 4-11 for 5 yds, 2 interceptions and a .7 passer rating vs Florida, his only ever playing time vs an SEC school. Hubbs said he was a complete non factor at QB in the Spring and he isn't exactly lighting it up so far this fall camp.

This is all I need.

Thanks.

1. Worley 2. Dobbs 3.5. Peterman

Don't forget the fumbles. I believe he had 2 fumbles during that half as well.

26/42 for 240 yards and 7 rushes for 45 yards being pretty much the whole o vs the final #5 team as a true freshman looked awful? He did more that game than Worley did in any game vs SEC teams. More completions, a higher completion percentage, more yards, and more rushing yards than Worley has ever had in an SEC game. He also threw better deep balls than Worley. There were just some drops.

The spring game was only one day.

Dobbs did not have a strong spring practice.

Enough with this Peterman talk. The kid is terrible. Do any of u remember the Florida game last year? My God, it was the worst QB performance Ive ever witnessed.
