Dobbs/Peterman recruitment...

So much for fan quarterbacks' coaching:
Under Bajakian, quarterback Zach Collaros became only the second passer in school history to reach the 6,000-yard and 50-touchdown milestone. He left Cincinnati with a 62% completion percentage, 6,278 yards passing, and 51 touchdowns

I'm sorry but what conference was that in again?

Hey, listen! Here's the deal! Butch Jones' entire offense is built around the quarterback being able to be another running back on the read option! They absolutely will not sacrifice that! Four years of Peyton Manning did not win a national championship. One year of Tee Martin did! Peyton Manning was no Tee Martin. Justin Worley is no Josh Dobbs! Get over it! 'nuff said! PS Running quarterbacks shredded us last year! We have to even the odds!

So I am guessing you haven't looked at Tee Martins stats. His stats were mediocre at best. If you think Martin was the main reason that UT won a NC, then you are sadly mistaken. I am mot saying we don't need a QB who can run, but using Martin as an example is dumb. He only tan for 287 yards in 1998.

Was Dobbs ever recruited to Cincinnati?

I didn't see anything that he was, so why did CBJ go after him at TN?

Nathan Peterman was recruited by Cincinnati.

This is all I need.

Thanks.

1. Worley 1.5 Peterman 2. Dobbs

Were you alive during the Florida game last year? Peterman will never see the field in a Tennessee jersey again.

My how quickly Dobbs went from a fan favorite to the nemesis

I don't blame these people they should hate on Dobbs anybody that loose to the SEC Champs, The SEC runner up and the defending national champ all in a 3 week period should be hated on beside if you can't beat those teams who are you going to beat. This is such a stupid post just like the hate on Dobbs.

....smh....

Mannnn you make me want to throw up in my mouth. Do you know how hard these kids work day in and day out for this university? For this fan base? Besides maybe at games during the fall, they see their families maybe twice a year at best because they're working so hard to be the best representation for the school and fans and yet you go off and spout this absolute crap.

And just take Peterman for one example - it would have been so easy for him to transfer to avoid this whole situation and backlash from that one half, those 2 quarters, those 4/5 series (which, personally, I think Ferguson maybe did after his spring performance) and leave it all behind him and start over somewhere else but he didn't. He stood up, took it like a man, learned from it, put his head down and worked, and from all reports so far from Fall, has been the strongest and most consistent QB in the program and on track to be one of the strongest QBs in the history of the program in the weight room.

You sir, need to check yourself before you wreck yourself. I hope to never see YOU in a Tennessee jersey again because you're a sorry excuse for a fan.

I just can't get past how awful he looked versus Mizzou. May I remind you that the passes called when Dobbs was QB were very short passes and hardly any passes 15 yards down the field. I remember a few nice deep passes by Worley. Thus, completion percents will be lower since Worley actually attempted passes past the line of scrimmage.
18.7 QBR versus Missou

so you watched the mizzou game and don't remember any drops downfield that would've easily been touchdowns?

now ur just being silly

What videos are you watching?

Of the three, Dobbs is throwing it the worst. His habit of sailing it would turn into a bunch of turnovers in games.

u cannot continue to deny what happened last year. Dobbs completion pct. was higher as a true freshman.

i know you want to believe otherwise, but it's worley's job to convince the staff he should be the starter. if not, it's Dobbs

The amount of incorrect info in this thread is insane. Do you guys research any points or do you just make your mind up and refuse to listen to any facts?

The drills you see them throwing are made for timing they're not made for "looking off passes".

It's early in camp these guys are trying to get on the same page as the receivers. Also the parts we see are the parts that are open to media. The rest of the practice where they have to go through actual playbook plays are not open to the media.

Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to it. As well, no matter how much each argues his or her point, it simply does not tip the scale towards any player. Without a doubt, the coaching staff will obviously play the player who gives the team the absolute best chance of winning. As fans, we all need to take a deep breath, relax, let the coaching staff do their job, and then trust their decision......all will be known in due time.

Are you kidding here? He looked bad vs Auburn and Vandy but not Missouri. He set a freshman completions record with 26. You don't remember the skinny post pass thrown perfectly to Josh Smith in the first half that surely would've been a 40+ yd td pass had he not dropped it? Come on man, at least be fair about it. Dobbs was our best player that night and got absolutely zero help from his teammates vs Mizzou.
