Dobbs Starting Tonight

Don’t expect much from Josh DOBBS tonight. He’s only had a week to study the playbook. The Titans have 8 starters injured and they are resting Derrick Henry. They are saving everything for the division title game next week. Hope he does, but not a good situation.
I think Dobbs can make quick study of the playbook.

Titans probably just sold an extra 10k tickets for tonight. Never understood why they don’t draft and play VFLs every season. There are a bunch of us who would suddenly start watching them if they did.

It's hard to speculate the number but there's a 100% chance there are Vol fans that didn't give a damn about this game before hearing the Dobbs news that are interested now.

I was always more a fan of a player/players instead of being set on a team. I just haven't followed much since Peyton retired.

Understood. It's the opposite for me. I grew up a Packers fan, Lombardi teams, Bart Starr era. Players back then weren't saints, you just never heard of what they did. I guess the adage that familiarity breeds contempt must be accurate. These days of rapid communication via digital and other means, plus the increasing callousness of conduct, just turns me off.

I hope Dobbs is able to show something but it seems like the circumstances could not be worse for him. New team and playbook, with most starters out playing for a team that is focused on next weeks game. It almost sounds like the Titans are conceding this game. Maybe they let him air it out some and he can show off his elusiveness.
It's almost like he's the sacrificial lamb to a game they don't care about.
Tough situation for the Dobb Goblin.
Go VFL Josh.

As a Cowboys fan this is tough for me. Love Dobbs and want him to do well, just maybe 🤔 wait a week to do to well. 😎

Time for Hobbs to ball out. Would love for Dobbs to be the backup to Mahomes.

I would love that. My middle son who is 9 picked Mahomes in his 2nd year in the NFL as his favorite player and we have been KC fans ever since. I guess it probably all started when I'd pull for Eric Berry every Sunday.

I think Dobbs can make quick study of the playbook.

With only a week to learn it and actually run plays with actual players, there’s a high likelihood he’s working with a stripped down version of their passing game/playbook.

Not that hard. Hit the open receivers Willis couldn't. Don't run twice, throw another incompletion, then punt on EVERY DRIVE. Damn near any QB could run it.

Will be cheering for the titans tonight.

Besides Manning, Shuler, and Pat Ryan has any other vol qb started a nfl game in the super bowl era? Obviously Condredge would have if he played today but trying to remember if Tee or Ainge ever started a game.

Neither started a regular season game. Likewise, Matt Simms played in 4 games but never started any.

Bobby Scott started 14 games across 9 seasons (with the highest number being 8 games started in 1976…he went 2-6 over those) with the Saints from 1973-1981.

Dewey Warren also started 4 games for the Bengals in 1968.

(In the same vein as Nathan Peterman, it doesn’t count as he transferred to Memphis, but Steve Matthews started an NFL game for Jacksonville in 1997.)

If we were to go back Pre-Super Bowl era, Jimmy Tarrant started 1 game for the Miami Seahawks in 1946 (it only being notable because this was the AAFC franchise that would be bought the next year and turned into the first iteration of the Baltimore Colts, the AAFC team that would eventually become the NFL’s Baltimore Colts when those two leagues merged in 1950.)

They don't understand that when Vandy is the home team for the in state game, there's considerably more UT fans in the stands than Vandy fans.

I'm starting him in fantasy. Not that I think he will light it up, but my season is shot. And I love Josh Dobbs.

From what I've seen from the Titans playbook. It won't be much to learn 😎

They should've took a risk on Trey Smith they had the chance to get him. KC got a steal on him

Good luck to Josh. Kind of a tough situation for him having limited time with the team and up against a good team but hope he shows well.

Yep, best wishes to JD. A great player here and even better person and representative of the University. One of my favorite Vols.
Dobbs is one of my favorite players of the last 20 years. Definitely top 3. I am REALLY hoping he tears it up.
