I gotta laugh a little. You guys that say you don't watch the NFL. You watch it. No one believes it. You're football fans. You may not watch it like you used to, but you watch it enough to know what is going on. Especially on Sunday and Monday nights.
rarely

Last season I may have watched one, maybe 2 games prior to the playoff championship games and SB.

College ball is just more fun, especially considering that I literally bleed orange.

TBH, I really love JD. He is a bright spot on an era of bad memories for the Vols.

IF he gets the starting job, I will purchase the Sunday NFL Ticket and start recording all the AZ games.

I feel this. I was a hug Dallas Mavericks fan when Nowitzki was the face of the franchise, but since he retired I've almost completely lost interest in the NBA.
I quit watching the NBA when Jordan left the Bulls.
I pulled against him in every NBA playoff or final round. I was disappointed most of the time, but it was fun to watch.
A few minutes of modern basketball bores me to tears.
The VOLS are fun to watch, but I am having to adjust to appreciating the game in 2023.

Out of curiosity, I jumped on a Cardinals forum to see what they thought about Dobbs. Basically, they don't like it but, that seems to be based on the general gist that they don't know anything about him except that he's been a 2nd-3rd string QB on 5 different teams.
The more interesting find was that several people commented, that practice reports were that Colt McCoy had some sort of off-season shoulder procedure and he's not getting much(or any) velocity on his passes and they wonder if he'll be ready for game 1. He's 9 of 12 for 42 yards thus far in the preseason.

They gave all of today's snaps to the other 2 guys. The inference was to see which one should be kept along with Murray and Dobbs going forward.

Enjoying the millions he has made being a backup

If he saved it, $4.3M earned over 8 years.

(Though it looks like he was last on the practice squad for the 49ers in 2021. No one signed him for the 2022 season or this season.)

Edit: Sorry, typo there. It should have originally said “$4.3” not “$41”.

Listening to a Cardinals podcast which featured a couple of dialed in AZ reporters, and their opinion is that they traded for Dobbs with the intention of him being the starter, maybe for the entire season, but there are different opinions on when Murray is able to return. They also said that they tried to sign Dobbs in March, but that the deal fell through then and he returned to Cleveland.

This is the opportunity he's been waiting for. We haven't had a QB1 in the NFL for any amount of time since Peyton (not counting the lesser talented Simms brother and Peterman). Dobbs isn't the long term answer in Arizona with Murray on the roster and the prospective high draft pick possible next year, but it's his chance to prove he can start and be a serviceable QB for teams in need of a starter QB. Who knows... maybe in a year or two we could have 3 starting NFL QBs with Hooker, Milton, and Dobbs.
