Hate it for Josh but he may have be better being the Brown's backup.
Can't argue that JD has an easy road this year.

I don't think anyone who pays an attention doesn't see what the Cards are doing.

Dobbs puts in a decent performance this year, should be enough to buy him another few years as a backup.

Dudes been around in the league for like seven years already hasn't he and bounced around from team to team. Doesn't look like many-if any have any concerns about his work ethic and off field behavior.

Why? He just got the starting job for the Cardinals. How is being the Browns backup better than that?

Cardinals are going to be horrible this year. Their O-line is just not very good. Point blank, Dobbs is most likely gonna take a bit of a beating this year.

Like I said though, he makes something out of it and he can pretty much guarantee a few more years of being QB2 somewhere at a very respectable salary

How long did Ryan Fitzpatrick bounce around? Lot of room in the NFL as QB2/occasional spot starter for a relatively smart guy who is not gonna embarrass the team off the field.

Basically Dobbs next few years in the NFL are in his own hands. As a man, can't really ask for more than that.

I'd be surprised if Murray ever played another down for them, I don't know what His contract situation is, but they'll trade Him. This is Dobbs "shot", McCoy is hot garbage, so barring injury, Dobbs is going to be thier starter for the year.... for the worst franchise in football. I don't expect much, through no fault of His own.

Cards would be foolish to rush Kyler back.

Honestly, Arizona is tanking this season. If they get the #1 pick, Murray is gone

Might be best to just wrap him in bubble wrap for the year and protect at least some trade value
What if Dobbs wins the 1st 4 games messing up their tank LOL but yeah if you're gonna tank. I agree keep Kyler trade value high

As I mentioned in the other thread, this is the only Vol QB not named Peyton to start an NFL season as QB 1 since Shuler retired (I don’t claim Peterman). Dobbs obviously isn’t in AZ’s long term plans, but what he can do is prove that he can be a serviceable NFL QB for teams in need of a starter. He could end up a spot starter or someone like Brissett or Tyrod Taylor who are always signed to fill in for an injured QB.

After having no qb other than Peyton starting in the NFL, in a year or two we could possibly have 3 of them with Dobbs, Hooker (if his recovery progresses well and next year steps up) and Milton.

I believe they just signed Murray to a huge extension last year. Seem to remember some hubbub about them putting in the contract that he had to watch x number of hours of film per week or something like that. Of course when the media got hold of that little detail they had to backpedal and remove it from the contract

Honestly, when I saw the news about them adding that line-I questioned whether they had much of a commitment to him(other than the $ of course)

Then he blew out his ACL. Then the coach and GM who drafted him got fired.

You can kind of see the writing on the wall from a good distance.

If they get the #1 pick, Murray is gone. If they can get a team to even pick up half his salary and eat the other half then pay a rookie contract in addition-Cards would still have less $$ committed to QBs than most teams in the league.

By the time whoever they draft next year is off his rookie deal-Kylers contract will be off the books. The cost of doing business in the NFL these days I guess.
