Dodge Challenger Question?

Unless you bog or spin badly off the line, or miss a shift, you will win. You have 80 more horsepower and 3-400 pounds less weight. Not a fair race. He would need a Scat Pack to be right there, or a Hellcat to suck your headlights out.

Shhhhhh!!! My car isn't stock anymore either I'd guess I'm around 500 horses now. I'll be going to the dyno soon

Just need a stop light!

I use to drag race at red lights around the mid 70's,started out with a Virginia State Police Cruiser, did a lot of work to the motor ,bored it out and ended up with a 6 pack on it,big cam and a set of headers, of course then I had to rebuild the auto transmission, with the quick shift package,it would snap your head back on a shift lol

ended up putting the motor in a 64 Sports Fury, had A Borg Warner transmission 4 speed, with a Hurst Mystery shiftier

I did burn a hole in the Johnson City Mc Donalds parking lot with the police cruiser :) and got caught by the police at a red light in Kingsport trying to pick a race with a Hemi Challenger :)

I didn't see the cop and he did,I took of like a bullet and the cop caught me,these were the good old days, the cop told me to take it home and park it,which I did lol

I was going to race it at Bristol drags, the 64,till I figured out I needed fiberglass fenders stuff for the super stock class,if my poor memory serves correctly

uuuh long post to ask if you got the V8 and if you did, which one? great looking car :good!: congrats

Full exhaust, headers, cold air. I didn't mean 500 to the wheels. I'm taking mine to the dyno soon, still might get it cammed

I wish you would have dynoed prior to the install. Then you would have had a base line.

It would give you reasonable numbers to work off of going forward.

I am curious to what you make now though.

Keep us updated!

It was rated at 455 stock, before his mods.

At the crank...

The dyno gives a whp baseline to work with.

After the mods he listed, he might have gained 30-35 hp. He may dyno 450 to the tires.

(Also, depending on the dyno, there are two types, will also show different numbers)

I know all that. I have fooled with hotrods for 50 years. I am just saying that he thinks that he has added 45 hp to his stock Camaro.

Not with those mods, unless he forgot to tell us it's tuned as well. Exhaust and CAI don't do much and LTs might be worth 15-20whp.

He won't have that kind of gain with those mods.

On a n/a engine, he's gonna need internal mods. And those wil void his warranty.

I'm just throwing a number out there guys idk what to expect. I'm gonna put a procharger in and a cam eventually
Is it not fast enough to suit you, or are you just wanting to spend money? Maybe you feel like you can never have too much horsepower. I guess I'm getting old. Anything over 350 feels pretty peppy too me.

I'm not trying to brag but I'm blessed to have my financial situation. I'm in a position to do these things, so I'm just trying to do it while I can!

We all do it. Enjoy it brother.

Maybe one day we meet at a track ( when I pick up another cobra) but I won't be playing with 4-500hp

I'll be sitting at 6-700 :)
