I think it is smart to be afraid of it. They can be as dangerous as a loaded gun in the wrong hands.
My boss has a son who does detailing. He has packages that can be permanent. 1 year packages, 3 year, 5 year, permanent. He does great work but it's very expensive I plan on getting it doneThis time of year it's hard with rain every other day and the pollen. I wash mine twice a week and get it detailed once every month.
I am not so sure about Hellcat future value. They have made quite a few of them, and we may be filling up with something other than gasoline some day. A Hellcat may be looked upon like smoking in a public place is today. It may be just a piece of art in 40 years.
All of us old guys who buy those kind of cars will be dead in 40 years. Plus, it will be outrageously expensive to repair some day. Almost all of today's new cars may be throwaways.
I agree with your assessment of a 6 cylinder car in the future. If any cars are worth a lot in the future, the Hellcat will be right on up there. I think they will probably hold value, but I don't look for massive appreciation.Possible for sure. I think a few of the modern muscle cars will go up in value one day. Ford pumped out the Mustang GT like mad back in the day and they demand a high price now. Pontiac made way fewer GTOs and their current price is outrageous. Not sure where something like a Hellcat might fall in the future price range but a low spec 6cyl definitely won't be worth squat.
Surely at some point in the future when everyone is cruising about at government mandated speeds on their fusion powered Vespas there will be some dudes left who know that nothing feels as good as a fire breathing American V8.
You're probably right though. In 40 years our high octane fuel will be more costly than the cars that drink it most likely.

I drove a couple of new Corvettes and they scared me at first. You will get accustomed to it. My point is that nobody needs that much power unless you race, and this is coming from a guy who loves fast cars. They are getting too fast for the street.
