Does Anybody Else Love Chris Christie

gs doesn't like him because Christie doesn't take a hardline approach to illegal immigration and doesn't pass the NRA purity test when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.

agreed. IMO he's a scumbag politician to the fullest extent but I would be glad to see him get his health in order.

scumbag because he's a politician or a scumbag politician because of his policy positions/actions?

I like that Christie appears to be very direct with his stance and with his answers; I will look more into the totality of his platform if he runs (as Gov of NJ he has no hold on my life).

I'm a Christie fan, for being willing to go to war with the public unions in a union state.

Also, I encourage people to look into Dan Malloy here in Connecticut. Told the state employee unions to take cuts, to 5,000 will be sent packing on 8/22.

Since Mafia John Rowland got railroaded, we've had a very liberal GOP governor and a fiscally (somewhat) responsible Dem Governor in Malloy. Dan raised every tax you could think of, but his taking the state workers union to the mat is admirable, as it means he is looking for a fix as opposed to being a lackey.

I too like that Christie is getting things done that were not politically popular - those things are counter to the "buy vote" type moves. For that he should be congratulated.

I liked his relatively aggressive, business like, across the board cuts to lower spending. And I also liked his no nonsense answers to the press who criticized him for staying in Florida (on vacation I think) when his state was snowed under. One of his replies (paraphrased) was "I can communicate and execute just as well from here as I can in NJ. It's not like I'm going to be driving one of the snow plows if I went back."

However, I was then somewhat disappointed when he chose to use the governor's helicopter to get to his son's baseball game. Although he did pay the state back (~$2,000 iirc) when it became an issue.
