As a career educator, I would say that I have a different perspective. But that automatically makes me the enemy and my perspective unimportant. So what's the use?

Can't find work or can't find a job she wants? I've seen more now hiring signs in fast food, gas stations, etc... than I've seen in a long time. My company has upped it's hiring over the past 4 months as well.

Can't find a job that meets the needs of the family across multiple metrics. If she takes a job that requires her to be away from the house while the kids are home, then I have to quit mine.

I'm no expert on all things retirement, but personally I've always had access to a 401k through my work, so never had a need for a traditional IRA. The Roth is your best protection against future tax changes, but you can't rely solely on it due to the contribution limits. Sounds like you are doing fine to me, probably ahead of most people twice your age who have nothing saved.

Indeed. And this is a girl who was Valid Victorian at a large high school in one of the better school districts near Houston and got essentially straight A’s through 4 years at Georgetown.

Biden wants it.

House wants it.

Mitch is boxed in. If he says they won't do it, it gets hung around his head forever. If he says they will, he's labeled a traitor by the fiscal conservative branch of the GOP once Trump is gone.

The $2,000 Stimulus Checks won’t pass through the Senate any way so it’s a waste of time getting your hopes up.

$600 is better than nothing.

I'm so smart I'm still working all the time when I could be retired and enjoying life... like crisscrossing the country in an RV and/or living on a lake... though my wife would nix both of those ideas...
