Does it matter that Alabama was 5 and Vols 6?

I wish y'all would decide, so I'd know what to do about it.

Y'all couldn't agree on who should win this past weekend, so I didn't do anything about those games... and then y'all couldn't decide who should go to which bowl game, so I ended up doing nothing to determine that.

Y'all's indecision has left me standing uselessly on the sideline like just another spectator!

Does it really matter? Alabama goes to the Sugar Bowl and likely plays Kansas State. We go to the Orange Bowl and play Clemson. I would rather play in the Orange Bowl against a big time opponent.
It only matters because it finally made apparent to anyone not already convinced that bama bias is real and the CFP Committee are a bunch of clowns

I get the head to head. I get the strength of schedule . The arguments for Tennessee being ranked above Alabama are legit and justified. The point is , it doesn't matter. We had our chance to make it in relatively easy . We had it made and blew it in catastrophic fashion to the freakin unranked technochickens of all teams. Would you rather see us go to the Orange Bowl and play a team that we match up well enough with to win , go to Nola , or go to the playoffs and get spanked again by the already unbearable Georgia team ? Who cares if Alabama is ranked higher or even if they got into the playoffs. They'd have gotten smoked in the semifinals.

If we started the year ranked as high as Bama or OSU, we probably make the playoffs. JMO.
Don't ever let anyone tell you early season rankings don't matter, it's how they perceive you the rest of the year regardless.

Still seems ridiculous!! Just a popularity contest for Alabama based on its history but not this year's performance!

According to Ricky Bobby, if you ain't first you're last.

I strongly prefer the Orange Bowl.

The beach chicks dig my country boy accent.

In New Orleans, Bama can hang out w/Sheena:

As they sing.

I went up to this girl, she said, hi, my name is Sheena
I thought she'd be good to go with a little funky cold medina
She said, I'd like a drink, I said, okay, I'll go get it
Then a couple sips she cold licked her lips
Then I knew that she was with it
So I took her to my crib, and everything went well as planned
But when she got undressed, it was a big old mess, Sheena was a man
So I threw him out, I don't fool around with no Oscar Meyer wiener
You must be sure that the girl is pure for the funky cold medina

Yes, did team B lay a complete egg at any point during the season?

Lost to tuuuurrible LSU.

The real question....who the heck did Team B beat?

Best win was maybe Texas who will probably finish outside Top-25.

Team B just isn't any good and has zero defense.

What is great is the Tennessee Volunteers knocked bama out of cfp in Heupel's 2nd year. Bama will now have to go through and contend with the Big Orange from here on. And we will be competitive in the years forward.

It matters that the decision makers can’t even follow their criteria.

That said the end result is better for us. So all good.

This is the right take. From a perspective of “following the rules” it’s wrong.

I know folks wanted that Sugar appearance but really, going to it as the SEC runner up takes some of the shine off IMO. It was special because it meant you won the conference. But now the SEC Champ most likely goes to the playoffs so the Sugar gets seconds.

Personally I’m looking forward to taking on Clemson who has bigger implications for the state of our program than K State.

I really don't care where some committee ranks us and Bubba. The fact is we beat them and they know it. There were a couple of the gumps at work just now trying to make themselves feel better about being ranked 5th and us 6th. I just let them talk for a few minutes. When they stopped to catch their breath, I asked them who won. They just got a dumb look on their faces. Then one of them said TN won and I whispered, don't ever forget that. GO VOLS!

Yes, it surrendered the most points it had allowed in over 100 years and had the most sloppy penalties it had ever had in a loss as a heavy favorite.

I like to think we were just really damned good at that point . We found a weakness and exploited it. South Carolina found our whole defense exploitable because it wasn't there. We sent listless doppelgangers in their place for that game.
