Does the dismissal of Dorial Green-Beckham mean

a certain victory for Tennessee over Mizzou? With DGB gone, Missouri has lost its top three receivers from last year. Maty Mauk will have no one taller than 6-3 to throw the downfield jump ball to. I feel better about the Vols to be no worse than 7-5 this coming season.

The only way to guarantee victory is by scoring more points than they do. If we do that, I like our chances

The chances are very high that he will be reinstated before we play them. Mizzou will "re-evaluate", say that he is terribly sorry, run a few laps, Dorial will get religion, and they will shed a few tears as they welcome him back in the fold. That's how it works folks.

He's actually dismissed from the team, not suspended indefinitely.

For like his 3 or 4th incident at the school, the last of which involved him essentially forcing his way into a woman's house, and shoving a woman down some stairs.

He's gone; he's not coming back.

And I also think we beat OU in Norman. That's 9 wins.

Alright Nation I'll try to play along.....switch out Ole Miss on the road and Florida ANYWHERE, with Georgia and USCar as "possible" wins and maybe... forget the Oklahoma game though as a win. Could it possibly happen? I guess. But you can't expect/predict a win from this "freshman team" with brand new OL and DLs vs a top 5-10 team on the road.

We have yet to be able to stop a mobile QB...period

Not sure why we would magically begin to be able to execute now given our personnel changes this season.

Not meaning to sound like a smart ass but we don't even know who our starting QB is going to be so I say no, not a certain victory.

Its not the QB by the time we play MIZZ we should be alright there its the OL and DL, I don't know if we will be able to stop anybody from running or passing a lot like last year or even worse.

Exactly. Dooley wasn't fired because his Os weren't able to score, but because his Ds couldn't stop the other team from scoring more. There are pages and pages talking about the O, but posts here and there on the D. One of my biggest concerns with CBJ from day 1 is if our Ds will ever be able to catch up. Outside of the the SEC defense has been less important, and high scoring Os is the key. Things r changing in this way in the SEC too.

So whether or not CBJ can get the D to play, and not just on talent because our schedule is full of talent, is my biggest concern.

And to keep it to thread....who knows if we beat them or not. They'll have plenty of games to settle in. Injuries at this point is mizzous biggest concern I would think. We r in no place to think we should be beating anyone on there level. Capable of making a game of it...yes but beating them handily is just ridiculous. That kind of mindset is what starts the fire under a coaches chair because they can't live up to the unrealistic expectations. Game by game y'all...game by game.

DBG cost himself some GREEN

depends on which green you are referring, with no more drug tests to pass I have a feeling DBG will be spending plenty of time with the sticky-icky green, puff puff pass my friend.

No. He will end up in Texas. Charlie Strong has already penciled him in as a starting WR.

If we can't beat Mizzou , at home with the best coaching staff in America , I will be thoroughly disappointed, and Butch will need to re-evaluate his staff

Or maybe some of the people in this fan base will put down the drugs and realize that a team full of HS all Americans is going to need more than a few games to grow.

Or maybe they'll just take more drugs. One can only guess at this point.

You are taking lotsa flak, but I like your optimism & Volunteer spirit. Naysayers fret when fans express an opinion different from their "expertise"!

It will most likely be another win for us in our undefeated season next year. Next year will be the 1st of 11 consecutive national championships in football. It all began with DGB being kicked out of school.

We will have played 10 full games by the time Mizzou visits Neyland . No drugs here , I just expect more than a 5-7, 6-6 season . At some point and time coaching has to start making a difference and that needs to be this year! .... besides excuses are for losers and Dooley

Have you looked at what Mizzou lost and what is replacing them?

Hey. Some of you guys can try to rationalize all you want, but the fact remains that every off season people start saying these things and every season most of them are wrong. I'm just being a realist.
