Dogs of VolNation and other pets that are inferior to Dogs

Here are our babies. The black dog is our old boy Gizmo. He's 15 this year. The Shepherd is Bear and the white mutt is Rose, both are about 3/4 years old from the shelter. The snake is our Florida king snake Slytherin he's about 4. The kitten is our newest addition Patches, she's 12 weeks today and a ball of energy.

I met a Beautiful black lab last week at work, his name is Duke and he is a seeing eye dog and is 7 years old. His owner told me that she has had
him since 2016 and he has never once run her into anything and also looks up to make sure there is nothing up above that she could run into.
She told me that very few seeing eye dogs will look up, but he does. It was very interesting hearing about Dukes's devotion to his work and
his owner, and she told me that this is her 4th seeing eye dog and when she would first get the other dogs they were mad about leaving their
trainer and would rebel and run her into stuff for a little while, but she said that Duke never did that either, he was really precious and she was
too.

That’s wonderful!

I still think that the path for Hubs and me to one day have a dog is to foster potential guide and service dogs. Yes, it will be painful giving them up when they’re ready for school, but it’s nothing like the pain of making that final trip to the vet. 😭 Plus we can have a little vacay before the next puppy arrives. Plus plus we’re old, y’all. 🤪

It’s so good to read stories like yours of the difference that these dogs make in people’s lives. 💕
