They do go through stages but honestly it has not been bad. Now, about 7-8 years ago when I first met her she had a long haired GSD and that thing shed like a mofo. She neglected ot keep up with replacing the A/C filters and the result was not good. Not good at all.

They are very good about it. Each waits their turn patiently and they have to sit then lie down to get a piece. She's at the point where she can get each one to sit at the door, she calls their name and points at them one by one and they take their turns running outside.

That's still a lot of chicken...

I have a GSD and she knows there's always one extra piece.

You’re right about this being a part of how animals can react to what they perceive as prey.
Our Lab (RIP) never hurt any animal but I suspect that the Dachshund instinct kicked in and these two went into kill mode.

I believe that Dachshunds used to keep the varmints out of Kings gardens....I must have read that somewhere
