Dogs of VolNation and other pets that are inferior to Dogs

Oh, my… that’s quite… that’s quite a dog!
He sure is…he fell into the deep end of the pool three minutes after his owner left to go to Orlando. He needed saving.
Not a good start to our day.
His labored breathing is heartbreaking to listen to.
Very friendly though and a good guest

I've posted on here before about Chief, my 10 year old blue tick beagle. He crossed the bridge last night. Gonna miss that little turd.
Sorry to hear you lost Chief. We have a blue tick beagle named Dottie. My wife dresses her up like Smokey from time to time as in my profile pic

I've been keeping the PF OT forum up to date, but figured I'd expand the footprint.

My dog Tara is in the vet with vestibular disease and has been since Thursday. She's doing so much better today and even made an attempt to leave with us. Her balance still isn't as good as it needs to be and she's still not standing on her own, but the vet says she's well on the path to recovery.

It won't be easy since she's an older dog, but she'll get there slowly but surely.

I hope she makes a full recovery.

Get to pick up Tara today. She's doing great, though still not standing on her own. But she's eating and drinking on her own.

The vet thinks she'll be just as good at home where Dad and adopted Mom SSC can help care for her.
She may do even better at home where she's comfortable and in familiar surroundings.

Hope she gets stronger.

For a dog I thought for sure I was taking to the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday (I thought she had a stroke), she's making a remarkable comeback from her vestibular disease.

Managed to walk this far from the house on her own this afternoon. I was there to keep her from falling and she stumbled a bit, but the improvement from even yesterday to today has been nothing short of a miracle.

I had a 17 year old mutt. Got vestibular around 15. She kept the head tilt and it took her a long time to get semi back to normal (walking well using the bathroom without assistance). She was already really arthritic so it was a long road. The last year was good she was just really old already when it hit. She just looked goofy with that tilted head o_O. Hoping Tara has a quick recovery. Also good on y'all for stickin with it. It's hard and a lot of work but worth it.

On a side note...my dog layed down a lot like I'm sure yours is. Mine actually had to lie down so much that one of her elbows got necrotic and had to have skin removed. We made a makeshift elbow pad out of pool noodles and tape I think to keep that from happening after we realized it. Just an fyi to keep an eye on those elbows.
