Who is dumb enough to believe an ad like this? And from the post, only 5000 or so people actually text the number... I'm sure half of those people also went to the polls or cast an absentee ballot in the hopes that they would be double dipping...

He may be a POS but the force of the Federal government coming down with criminal charges for "misinformation" should be frightening to everyone; particularly Libertarians.

I get where you are coming from but it's not just misinformation. I get the slippery slope and that is concerning but it takes a big leap to go from this specific case to any kind of misinformation. Assuming he is guilty, this is unique in that the intent/result is to deprive people of their vote. As a matter of principle, is it OK to swindle people out of their vote but not OK to intimidate them out of their vote? What is the difference?

Surely you would think it's criminal to set up fake voting booths to trick people into voting there, so where do we draw the line?

I'm skeptical about why this act from 2016 is just now being prosecuted. I just hope the courts are semi-objective on the matter.

Was Trump's AG gonna go after him?

Like I said, if they don't have a good case then I hope he sues.

If people can go door to door spreading misinformation for someone to lick a stamp then someone should be able say whatever they want online. If morons fall for it so be it.

First thing that popped into my mind as well.

If it takes the FBI four years to format a case against something that's been in the public domain for that long, they suck a lot harder than we think they do.

They've been sitting on it waiting for the word go from higher up. It's a good test case for them.

precisely my point - the DOJ is politicized. that wasn't a new phenomenon during the Trump administration.

You know, for being "literally Hitler" in so many leftists' minds, Trump was really a horrible authoritarian. He had plenty of opportunities to go after the left wing press over the blatantly false Russian collusion reporting and a whole stack of things they said about him that never happened or were taken out of context.

In retrospect, he's the worst "literally Hitler" ever.
