Dominion Sues Powell for $1.3 Billion

Per Newsweek:

Sidney Powell Claims Trump 'Can Simply Be Reinstated,' Biden Told To Leave White House

BY Jason Lemon on 5/30/21 AT 10:47 AM EDT

Attorney Sidney Powell, who filed baseless 2020 election challenges on behalf of former President Donald Trump, insisted on Saturday that the Republican politician "can simply be reinstated" - continuing to promote conspiracy theories and misinformation about President Joe Biden's victory.

Powell made the remarks during the "For God & Country Patriot Roundup" conference in Dallas over the weekend. Also speaking at the event was Michael Flynn, the former Trump national security adviser has also repeatedly pushed false claims about the 2020 election.

"He can simply be reinstated," Powell said of Trump during the conference. The crowd cheered loudly in response to her groundless claims.

"And Biden is told to move out of the White House," the lawyer continued with a smirk on her face. "And President Trump should be moved back in. I'm sure there's not going to be credit for time lost, unfortunately. Because the Constitution itself set the date for inauguration. But he should definitely get the remainder of his term and make the best of it. That's for sure," Powell insisted.

Powell also suggested that Trump could have fought harder to stay in office. "He had all the tools he needed," she said. "From the day after the election, everyone else around him at the White House was telling him to just pack it up and go home."

If there were any remaining doubts about this woman's mental state, this should clear it up for you. Sidney Powell is a crazy loon.

I think it's high time several on this board admit that TDS is virulent on both sides of the aisle and do something to hold the ill on their side to the fire.

How the hell is Sidney Powell a lawyer? She is delusional to an extreme. She says that Trump can just be "reinstated"? By who? The Supreme Court made it clear that they aren't going to get involved with the 2020 Presidential Election. Who is going to reinstate him, and by what means under the Constitution is that even possible? Her rhetoric is so off-the-wall stupid, that it defies any attempt at rationalization.

More delusional than the 3 or 4 "lawyers" we have posting here on the regular?

I would have to say yes. These comments about Trump potentially being "reinstated" as President put her over the top, I think. She wasn't joking either. She seems to truly believe that. She is a nut.

I'm not sure she's really that delusional. After all, her reply to the Dominion suit admitted that all of her talk is just nonsense, and only idiots could possibly believe her. If a moron wants to pay to hear her drivel, then she's more than willing to take his money.

There's Almond Joys on all sides, best not to pay attention to them.

April 18 (Reuters) -

A Texas appellate court on Wednesday upheld a decision to reject attorney disciplinary charges against Donald Trump ally Sidney Powell, finding that the state's bar failed to prove that she had engaged in "fraud, dishonesty, deceit, or misrepresentation."

The Dallas-based Fifth Court of Appeals of Texas said in a 23-page opinion, opens new tab that state bar prosecutors "employed a 'scattershot' approach to the case," which alleged that Powell had "no reasonable basis" for filing lawsuits challenging U.S. President Joe Biden's 2020 election victories in key battleground states.

A judge had sided with Powell in the case last year, finding "numerous defects" in the evidence presented by the State Bar of Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline.

A representative for the Texas state bar said the commission would meet to determine its next steps and declined to comment further. Powell's attorney Robert Holmes did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Powell was among the most prominent lawyers to bring lawsuits after the 2020 U.S. presidential election alleging massive misconduct in battleground states that Democrat Biden won

All that means, is that a case of disciplinary action brought against Sidney Powell by the State of Texas Bar, has been dismissed.

^^^^ However, the sanctions levied against Sidney Powell in the state of Michigan, ^^^^ have been left in place by the Supreme Court of the United States.

^^^^ .... and Dominion's lawsuit against Sidney Powell is still active. ^^^^ Sidney Powell has not been "completely vindicated" at all.

“The Dallas Court of Appeals has affirmed the Texas state court’s dismissal of the Texas Bar’s case against Powell,” her team said in a statement. “After three years of litigation, the Court of Appeals held the Bar had no evidence Powell violated any disciplinary rule in filing four federal lawsuits in the aftermath of the 2020 election.

According the the US Court of Appeals, Powell did nothing wrong in her filing court cases.

According to the Supreme Court of the United States, with their 6 conservative Justices, including 3 who were appointed by Donald Trump, the sanctions levied against Sidney Powell in the state of Michigan, for filing frivolous lawsuits based on lies, should be left in place.

Once again, the only thing which was dismissed was the disciplinary case brought against Sidney Powell by the State of Texas Bar. That does not effect the sanctions already levied by the state of Michigan Bar, which the Supreme Court chose to leave in place, back in February of this year.
